Back in May the fourth bi-annual Soccer Aid match was played at Old Trafford and we are now thrilled to announce that the event raised over £4.9 million for children's charity UNICEF. Soccer Aid was co-founded by Robbie to raise funds for the world's most vulnerable children and the figure smashed all previous records set by the event.
Robbie, a UNICEF UK ambassador, was naturally delighted with the result:
"I'm still basking in the glory of England's win and so pleased that this has been the best Soccer Aid yet with almost £5 million raised for UNICEF – for children. Thank you so so much to everyone who donated on the night or bought a ticket to the match - we couldn't have done it without you."
The money raised by this year's event brings the Soccer Aid total to over £12 million and will be spent helping to save children's lives by providing food, vaccines and other critical supplies.

Set up by Robbie in May 2000, Give It Sum is Robbie's charitable fund which he initially set up with the money from his Pepsi sponsorship deal. The fund is open to a broad range of self-help projects, community groups and voluntary organisations based in North Staffordshire.
Robbie was introduced to UNICEF UK by the late Ian Dury, himself a UNICEF Special Representative in 1998, when they travelled together to Sri Lanka to see UNICEF's work. In 2001, Robbie became a UNICEF UK Ambassador and has continued to be a passionate supporter ever since visiting UNICEF's work on HIV and AIDS in Mozambique and South Africa, and fronting UNICEF's Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS campaign.
