"I want to thank you for being part of this moment," said Robbie following his spine-tingling performing of Angels. This was his only performance in the UK ahead of the launch of new album Intensive Care at the Berlin Velodrom, so demand was understandably sky-high for tickets.

Excited fans queued around the block in the rain throughout the night for the intimate and exclusive live show amd strict security measures at London's Astoria, which has since closed down, ensured that the tickets fell into the right hands - to real fans, not touts.

Live Review

"After the large-scale production of Knebworth two years ago it was an amazing experience to see Robbie in such an intimate venue. He seemed really relaxed and had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand with plenty of his trademark cheeky banter between songs. The new material sounded very promising, and Tripping was received as if it was an old classic. But, as ever, Angels was the real showstopper." Read the full review on the BBC website.

I won the tickets through this site.It was a great night we was stood at the balcony with noone in front and in the middle opposit the stage. The new songs (at the time) went down very well .Everyone seemed to enjoy it and then afterwards we met the two lttle britain guys on the way out so that was a bonus. Thanks Rob for a great night.

It was one of my favourite Robbie shows ever, as it was so nice to be in a small venue after all those years of big ones! I was lucky enough that my office was round the corner and my husband was happy to come and queue to get a wristband with me so that I didn't have to go alone! Loved hearing all the new songs - gave me goosebumps!

This was the most exciting Robbie show ever! Lovely to see him in such a small venue. I was lucky because although I don't live in London I was due to go there for the weekend anyway to visit my sister and when I heard about this gig I had to beg her to queue with me lol Getting my wristband was so exciting and I was petrified for the whole 2 days before the show in case something happened to it! It was great to hear so many of the new songs for the first time as well as some old classics. I really feel privileged to have been there :-)

It was a very special night - incredible atmosphere. Had to pinch myself that I was actually there! It was such a thrill to hear the new songs for the very first time from Rob himself standing just a few feet away. Will never forget Ghosts as the opening song - major goosebump moment! Will never forget the whole show in fact. To see him perform in such a small and intimate venue was a truly unique experience. Just hoping he has something similar in mind for the next album! Won't be at the Astoria however which now stands boarded up and set for demolition I believe. It will always have a special place in my heart.

I was there, queued overnight in the rain for tickets with my best friend. Amazing was not the word I can use to describe seeing Robbie in such a small venue. Tears shed over Angels. I would queue overnight again at the drop of a hat. Just tell me the date! xxx

I was there with my sister and best friend we were 3 from the front of the stage just off centre. So close when Robbie sat on stage my sister cupped his face with her hand. It was a surreal experience couldnt believe we were so close. It was fantastic

I was so at this intimate gig,I had seen a very small advert in the sun paper saying Robbie tickets on sale today at londons Astoria,I thought it was a joke so I rang the Astoria and they said yep tickets are on sale now and there are some left but you have to come up and buy them, that was it I rang my sister up at work and we got the train up from brighton straight to London, headed to the Astoria and asked for two tickets and the guy said so sorry we've sold out.....ha ha only joking we have some left,we couldn't believe our luck,we had to have wrist bands on and couldn't take them off,I was so paranoid I was going to damage it,the gig was the next day so we travelled up again and when we got into the Astoria it was an amazing feeling,Robbie came on and we could almost touch him,he is a natural born entertainer, love you lots rob xxxx
