Soccer Aid 2012: The Match

Soccer Aid 2012, which took place at Manchester’s Old Trafford, was another huge success both on and off the pitch.

By the final whistle England had their hands on the cup with a 3-1 victory and the total figure pledged by viewers alone had already reached £2million, and with the UK government matching donations pound for pound, it immediately shot up to £4million.

The England team hit home no less than three goals in the second half, with Teddy Sheringham, Jonathan Wilkes and Kevin Phillips all scoring, to clinch a well deserved victory.
