On the eve of Sky Television High-Definition broadcast of Robbie's UK Close Encounters concert from Leeds, Robbie revealed to Sky Magazine that he prays to Elvis, what he thinks about aliens and who his favourite TV pin-ups are.

On performance...

You were the big hit of Live8 - is there more pressure when you're performing live on TV and if so how do you deal with your nerves?
No cameras don't bother me, I just feel pressure performing in my home country cos I simply expect more of myself.

Are you superstitious - any pre-performance rituals?
Not particularly, no. I always pray to Elvis and always have chicken, beans and rice so perhaps I am?

What's on your backstage rider?
Dull question - water, espresso machine, gatorade, fruit and vocalzones.

On music...

Which track gets the best reaction from the crowd and which is your current favourite to perform live and why?Angels always gets the best reaction and I am enjoying Come Undone at the moment.

Do you choose your own stage outfits ­ what are your favourites?
Yes I do and the three quarter length coat is rocking at the moment, it makes me feel statesmen like.

Who's your musical hero/all-time favourite band and why?
I haven't got one, there are so many people I like for different reasons.

What do you think of current bands - who do you like and why?
There is nothing current that I really enjoy, but Elbow are very good.

Who's your next duet going to be with and why?
I don't know!

How would you describe your music right now?
Aaaacid!
 

On tattoos...

Where will you have you next one and what will it be?
I never really know until the day I choose to have one, they are getting more painful as I get older.

Do you worry about getting old and having tatts on wrinkly skin?
Yes I do worry about getting old but only cos I like playing football.

On looks...

Do you like training or is it a drag?
Training is boring, to be honest I just play football.

What's your favourite kind of exercise?
Football

Do you use vitamin supplements?
I did for a while to stop me getting flu....and then I got the flu.
