She's Madonna
The third single taken from Rudebox, She's Madonna has it all. Class, pop, cheek, and the Pet Shop Boys. Robbie teamed up with his pop heroes to make this electronic pop work-out - and the three work so well together you have to wonder why they've never teamed up before. Accompanied by Johan Renck's hilarious drag-queen-laden video, you'd be forgiven for thinking this is one of Rudebox's lighter moments. But Robbie disagrees: "There is nothing tongue in cheek about this song at all," he insists. "I have always fancied Madonna. I'd have hoped for it to be this good, but you can never tell before venturing into the studio. It is just a bonus that it worked out so well."
She's Madonna was well received across the globe, peaking in the Top 5 singles charts in Belgium,
Denmark, Germany, Holland and Italy.
