I queued up from 1pm that day to try and be near the front of the gig and we travelled all the way from Lincoln, it was 3 days before my 15th birthday and i couldn't have been any more excited! Life thru a lens had only been out for a few days but i was determined i was going to know all the songs before i went, so i listened to it non stop before the gig. While we were queuing we saw the Supernaturals walking about, and we got Mark's autograph too. The supernatural's were to support Robbie on a later tour too!
The actual gig was amazing. I did not expect it to be so intimate. It took a while for the crowd to warm up, but a few songs in and even though people didn't really seem to know the songs everyone was bouncing around and having a good time! I remember a few covers being played, like Primal Scream's Rocks, and David Bowie's Kooks, and the punk version of Back For Good. I found the experience absolutely amazing, i don't think i've ever been so close since, even though i did get pushed back a little seeing as i was so small (things haven't changed much haha!), but it really didn't matter. It was such a fantastic night, i was buzzing for weeks afterwards.
When we were outside watching the band pack away, i managed to get a set list which i still treasure to this day.
i was right at the front at the gig, when the doors opened after queuing most of the afternoon i ran and got the space right infront of robbie's mic, i also remember shouting his name and he waved at me, wow what a gig what a fab memory i can tell the grandkids
