So will there be a CIN Rocks this year as well I wonder?

Last year Gary said "see you next year".

Possibly we'd already know about it by now if there was.

Shame: Watch The Making Of The Video

17 Nov 2010
You've seen the bromance-fuelled video (http://www.robbiewilliams.com/video/official/shame-music-video), now check out what happened behind-the-scenes on set at the Shame video shoot as we catch up with Robbie and Gary Barlow in the 'Making Of' film.

Shot over two days in Chatsworth, Los Angeles, the boys were up early at 5am each day to kick off filming. It was an exhausting 48 hours for the recently re-united bandmates (especially with so much uphill running involved!) but was all worth it in the end and Robbie commented that the video shoot was "a good day for pop"!

Find out what how Robbie gets in the zone for some serious acting, why Gary enjoys being in Robbie's videos and what Robbie's looking forward to at the end of the video shoot in the video below..!

Brilliant, Never Forget is one of my favourite Take That songs.

Just as long as they don't wear the shorts they had on in the video. :)

loved the making of Shame too.

Wasn't the Never Forget video a compliation of other appearances? The lycra shorts were funny:D And I loved the clips of all of them as children.

It will be a very emotional moment for me when they sing Never Forget live for the first time as a 5. It will also be interesting to see how Robbie handles not being on lead.... and taking his nah nah nah nah nahs back from Mark:p

it will be interesting to see if Never Forget is going to be performed in exactly the same way as it was the first time around. They may adapt it.

and, the video for Never Forget, is a whatever you call it video, compilation. I don't get the connection of Never Forget and the word classic  Robbie has Angels, and wouldn't Back For Good be Take That's classic song?

Never Forget is THE classic Take That song Jackie. Robbie himself said he was looking foreward to performing it for the first time with the others, I think he said it on Steve Wright's show. I'll be very surprised if they change the performance apart from Robbie reclaiming his yeah we're not invinceable... and is nah nah nah nah nahs.... It's going to steal the show, just you wait and see.

That video of Shame is lovely. :D

I'm starting to sound like a broken record but I'm just enjoying everything they're offering at the minute and seeing Robbie's happiness at being back with GB/TT. The reunion is worth it for that alone. I'm loving it all. :)

I think, he will sing "no regrets" with eventuelly new lyric. He starts alone and the other 4 lads comes and sing with him.........

And I hope, Rob will sing "come Undone" and "Angels" - but I´ll hear allways his voice alone on this tow songs !!!

I'd like to see them all sing Angels together G. :)

I think Robbie would take that () as a massive compliment actually. I think he'd be dead chuffed about it.

I reckon we'll see BFG on another night or maybe they'll perform it on German TV next week. :)

No.1 Album Progress Has Biggest First Week Sales This Century!

22 Nov 2010
Take That's latest album Progress shot to the No.1 spot in the UK album charts this weekend and it wouldn't have got there without you all - a massive thank you for buying it and helping Robbie and the boys achieve this monumental success.

Progress, which saw the highest first week sales in 13 years, the biggest opening week for an album in Britain since Oasis' Be Here Now, sold just under a staggering 520,000 copies making it the fastest-selling album of the millennium. This phenomenal figure also means it has sold more copies than the rest of all the albums in the Top 10 added together… wow!

The huge excitement surrounding one of the biggest reunions in pop and one of the most anticipated albums in years meant that 45% of the final album sales took place on the day of release… that's 235,000 of you who couldn't wait to get your hands on the album!

If you've not bought Progress yet click here to pick it up now (http://www.robbiewilliams.com/discography/albums/progress) and check out why it's been such a huge success.

Progress tops the 10 best-selling albums of the century:

1. Progress - Take That (2010)
2. X&Y - Coldplay (2005)
3. The Circus - Take That (2008)
4. I Dreamed A Dream - Susan Boyle (2009)
5. Life For Rent - Dido (2003)
6. Spirit - Leona Lewis (2007)
7. Intensive Care - Robbie Williams (2005)
8. Whatever People Say - Arctic Monkeys (2006)
9. Greatest Hits - Robbie Williams (2004)
10. 1 - The Beatles (2000)

Come undone (revised)

So unimpressed so not in awe
Charity saint and commercial wh*re
So self aware so full of sh*t
So indecisive so adamant
He’s contemplating thinking about thinking
Try stop thinking, just get another hit in
Watch Rob come undone

They're selling charms and compact mirrors on the site
Feels like this is all a load of corporate sh*te
Next they’ll be selling perfume but I doubt it’ll smell so sweet
Because it’s dumb
But he’s our son
Watch him come undone
Watch him come undone

Not rock and roll more corporate suit
So damn ugly, gathering loot
So well trained, so animal
He need’s our love, so f**k us all
I'm not scared of buying I just don't want to
And Im not lying, just thought better of you
He’s come undone

They're selling silver plated items on his website
We’re a classy bunch so where’s the diamonites?
There’s a recession, but on here it doesn’t bite
Because we’re dumb
And he’s our son
We’ve come undone

So write another ballad
Mix it on a Wednesday
Sell it on a Thursday
Buy a yacht by Saturday
It's a love song
A love song
Sell an Angel candle
See if we can handle
Spending what we don’t have
Thinkin’ that we’re all chav’s
And sing Rob songs
We sing Rob songs
So sincere
So sincere

They're selling razor blades and mirrors in the street
So now they selling merch thinking we are all sheep
He sings so well, so why sell he’s soul so cheap
He says he's scum
He’s our son
He’s come undone
He’s come undone
He’s come undone
He’s come undone
He’s a lum
Love your son
He’s not dumb
Love your son
You've gotta love my sad song, my love song
My sad song, my love song, my sad song, my love song

I understand that need to expand his brand but good lord this is a such a horrible way to do it. These luxuary brands are not/have never been associated with him and are not like him. He should have started with a guy's tennis shoe line or something already associated with him that they then could expand into this stuff as a progression, but to start here is idiotic

Glad you liked the song!

Tennis shoes would have made more sense than candles. Even a link up with Saville Row as he is known for his bespoke suits. But jewellery - didnt he say he isnt 'bling'?

Or better still, just sell, oh I dont know....Records???????

The TT back catalogue, The special editions of Robbie's books, the t-shirts, albums, B-sides, remixed Robbie tracks - but charm bracelets? Who do they think we are, teenage JLS fans?????? Robbie isnt Jordan/Katie Price!

I-wona

Robbie/TT may have two generations: teenagers from 90-ties and the new ones but maybe that's only my opinion.

tammyinlalaland
26-11-10, 01:46 PM
He does not own his back catalogue.. EMI does and he does not want to put out any solo music right now because it conflicts with the TT stuff.

Also the plan is clearly to expand his brand into the luxary products range so albums and things are not helpful to that. He needed to start though with things that make sense and are natural to him. None of this stuff is

Robstoke
26-11-10, 05:10 PM
Yes of course Rob cant promo his solo work during the TT stage - it would be daft for him to even think about it at this stage on so many levels - eg, timing, contractual, legal, emotional etc

I can understand that the Rob brand needs to go the way of the luxury route - but timing is key. The people behind the "Robbie Brand" may not have noticed, but we are in a recession.

Also, I dont recall Robbie fans crying out for candles or charm bracelets. But I'm aware that they have asked for B-sides to be released, for example. It is an issue of "know your audience". This all smacks to me as deliberately exploiting the ultra loyal fan base.

Naturally we have a choice as to whether we buy these items, but to produce the "Robbie Boutique" just before Christmas does seem a little crass, especially when the Charity section of this very website has still not been populated. It strongly suggests where their prorities lie.

Having said what I just said I think this sentence is grossly unfair.

We all know how much Robbie does for charity. He doesn't need to sing it from the rooftops. He does it quietly and consistently.

Whatever he chooses to sell of himself has got absolutely nothing to do with all the money and time that he gives away throughout each and every year.

Im not having a go at Robbie himself - hence why I said "It strongly suggests where their prorities lie". I would be very surprised if Robbie himself knew that this was all going on, especially as he is away on promotion. On the contrary, Im having 'a go' at the 'powers-that-be' who are running this site.

I for one would feel a lot better when they finally set up the charity tab, particulary during a time when many of the charity organisations Robbie is associated with, are finding it very difficult.

The charity tab has been up for weeks now and still not populated with any information - something which wouldnt take more than a few hours to arrange. Yet they found the time to post information about silver-plated compact mirrors for sale. Hmmm!

.

Absolutely, Laura

In fact, not only does he not need it singing from the rooftops, he's uncomfortable with it even being publicised. He does a damned sight more than we ever see but he's not a celeb who does Charity For Charity's Sake; he's happy to get involved with the public face of it all when it will make a difference, but other than that he likes to keep it quiet.

He doesn't need or seek validation. And good for him.

I would like to think the idea of the Charity section is to provide information for fans who would like to donate money and/or help raise money/awareness.

So maybe instead of some fans continuing stating the obvious good points of Robbie, they should perhaps concentrate on asking the people behind this website why the Charity section has still not been updated, but the boutique has?

Maybe "some fans" are stating the obvious because the post needed clarification.

When I read "their priorities" I took it to mean Rob's website and that implies (to me) Rob himself as I'm not one of those fans who thinks Rob is completely oblivious to what is put on here. Hence my reply.

You know what you mean when you post but I'm not a mind reader.

And no I don't feel the need to ask why the charity section hasn't been updated thanks all the same. I can read about Rob's charity work round various Rob forums every day and lovely reading it makes too. I don't need it shoved in my face to encourage me to contribute. We're all different and those that think differently don't need to be "told" what to do.

Good for you Laura, but I was wondering why the charity section has yet to be populated, but the folks behind the website found enough time to update the Robbie Boutique section. No one mentioned about shoving anything into your face. Pretty aggressive terms being used, for something that we both essentially agree on.

Jumping to conclusions doesnt help the discussion, it detracts from it. The people who run this site (and for the sake of clarification Laura, I am not referring to the moderators), should be made aware that there are certain aspects that need addressing.

It doesnt look good (and in some ways it reflects very badly on RW) when framed photographs are being sold for hundreds of pounds, a boutique has been established but the charity section after several weeks has still not been populated. Im not asking for "War and Peace", just a few links and paragraphs, under one section, where fans, should they wish, discuss and help out where possible. That isnt shoving anything in anyone's faces - whereas you may not be able to say the same for the candle gift set!

So maybe instead of some fans continuing stating the obvious good points of Robbie, they should perhaps concentrate on asking the people behind this website why the Charity section has still not been updated, but the boutique has?

At the end of the day, technically speaking, they've just added another page to the shop section of the website which would have taken all of ten minutes.

I personally don't think a charity section is necessary, but for those who do and are placing huge importance on the subject, surely they would prefer that more time is spent over it than that

As you said, timing is key. They brought out extra products in time for Christmas shopping. I'll be buying a candle or two for that precise purpose and I believe there are others like me who will be doing likewise

tammyinlalaland
27-11-10, 08:42 AM
it took ten minutes to add the page but it took months of planning to produce the products to sell on that page. It took finding the product designers, the accepted designs, the manufactures, the materials and production of the items. There had to have been trial and error on getting the right sent with the right name for the candles. This was poured over by the team and I would guess that the women closest to Robbie decided the product line's final items.

This was not ten minute thing. This is the second step of the starting of a luxary brand lines the first being the deluxe collections of the book/dvd collections and the signed photograph. Honestly it is most likely the wrong second step. As RS and I have said, they should have started with items identified with Robbie, tennis shoes, suits, watches etc and then expanded into home and women's lines

Chrissie
27-11-10, 08:54 AM
Why though?

Surely the vast majority of Robbie's fans are women

I can understand David Beckham, say, going down the male products root because he's a sportsman - but do men really buy products endorsed by their favourite popstar?

Those signed photos were an exception, they really were a 'luxury' item in these times. But the candles and other things are no more excessively priced than anything else in the shop has ever been

It's horses for courses, of course, but at the end of the day nobody's forcing anybody to buy anything, just giving them the opportunity if they so wish

I can understand David Beckham, say, going down the male products root because he's a sportsman - but do men really buy products endorsed by their favourite popstar?

Men will by tennis shoes designed by males... I mean like a line of Chuck Taylors (Converse) or Vans or Adidas more the wear around then to play sports with. But more things women buy for the men in their lives and they would buy things for their own men that their fave male popstar wore/endorsed

of course he would... it depends on the design. That response is EXACTLY why this is the wrong way to start the branding process. They should have started with mascline things like watches and tennis shoes. Men like Robbie, but they don't publically like him. There have been more than one survey to establish that fact that they will not admit to like him but do. They would wear a watch or shoes if the design was good

I dont think a RW styled candle is necessary, but if the popstar is one of the faces of UNICEF, I think that the team behind Robbie should at least help promote the charity/organisation. As I said it just shows where their priorites are.

As for populating the Charity section, how long does it take to write up a few lines and add a few links? Surely a lot longer than designing a line of luxury boutique products! As we are approaching for what some regard as the season of good will, these charities are finding it more and more difficult to raise funds. If one person clicks on the site and learns something about the relevant charity "works", it would be worth the effort of populating the section.

Personally I dont understand why anyone would want to buy an ordinary wax candle, with a sticky label with the words "Robbie Williams" on the front, when they can get similiar candles from a number of high street shops for a far cheaper price. But each to their own, some people like to pay for a name I suppose!

I think a good example may be Sean Coombs (Puff Daddy, or whatever his name is today LOL) His range has I believe been very well received by fashion and music fans. He managed to create a wide range of items for the luxury market, without anything looking out of place - for both males and female buyers.

As far as I can make out, I dont even think Robbie has had any significant input - did he design or at least approve the designs? These items just appear so divorced from the popstar, and looks more like a vehicle to cash in on his name just in time for the Christmas market. Fair enough if Robbie wants to do that, and fair enough if people want to buy these things. Just seems very odd for someone who wants to protect his name and legacy to act this way!

my husband only just puts up with having RW cd's mixed in with all our other cd's. I honestly think that if I bought him some sor t of RW endorsed clothing I would be sleeping in the garage for the night. There is no way on earth, whatever the product, that he would wear it.

I think it is a shame they have only gone for upmarket priced items. If they had done a couple of things for under a tenner I might have been tempted, but I simply cannot afford to spend £25 on a candle.

Take That will be in Copenhagen to morrow, for an interview and playing "Flood"

It´s for "TV2" and I am lucky that I have won tickets to see them. We are 100 fans who have won the right to be in the inner Circle to see them perform. We will be outsite the studio in the cold, but still we will be able to get a view of them as they will do the interview.
It will be aired tomorrow evening in Danish TV "TV2" at 18:25 to 18:50

Sorry - I feel a bit mean saying this, but have those signatures been stuck on a page in the book?

Does that really constitute "signing" a book?

If fans are paying 150.00 pounds, could Robbie's Management not have sat him down and got him to actually sign the books? If he's going to sign a piece of paper why not sign the proper book?

Or am I looking at the photo wrong?

Just an idea - but it may be easy to transport sheets of paper, later cut them up and stick them in the book, than transport all those heavy books. Plus it does give the purchaser the option to remove the "signature" with they wanted, and frame it etc.

But I agree, it does seem a bit steep to pay £150 for a signed book, if the book isnt actually signed!

True - but could Robbie not have been taken to the place where the books were stored? He's been in the UK loads recently. Surely that could have been arranged?

I saw that they had all sold out so like Chrissie said it is immaterial but if I were paying for a signature - I would want Robbie to actually have signed the book.

It just seems "a bit of a swiz"

Nah, I cant see that being possible - he has security detail just to leave his house. Can you imagine the logistics to get him to a warehouse or office to sign 1,000 books? (Was it 1,000 books?)

I can see the logic behind it, I wouldnt want to cart around all those heavy hard back books, but yes, paying an extra £50 for a signature on a piece of paper does seem a bit of a swiz.

Still, that's another £150 towards my power bill this winter!

I dont know if he is 'precious' - but then we dont know his schedule either. I know at this time of the year I bearly have time to turn around what with work commitments, family and friends, birthdays, sorting out Christmas pressies, general life stuff etc. I would find it difficult to find time to sit down and sign 100 Christmas cards, let alone 1,000 books!

Yes I know he has 'people' to arrange things for him, but they have lives too. We only see a small fraction of Robbie world. At a guess from 6am to 10pm his day is pretty much mapped out doing all the TT promo, his own promo (as well as designing jewellery for his new boutique :p) etc.

Im not making excuses, but maybe understanding why it may not have been possible to sign the books. I suppose we cant have it both ways - we complain if we dont see enough of him in this country, or that country, we're upset if we dont have signed books this, or signed records that. We forget sometimes there is a human being behind the super star who cant be in 2 places at the same time. I bet his mum is saying "he never drops by to visit anymore. 12 hours of labour, and not even a postcard" LOL

Be honest, if you were in his position with all the other committments you have in your life, would you be able to find the time to sign 1,000 books? It is easy from our side of the fence to question, but we dont know for sure what's going on from his perspective.

Also I think Rob still cares about his solo career, but he is for the moment at least concentrating on his group career. There is nothing wrong with that. From what Ive seen and read, his solo career hasnt brought him as much happiness as his recent TT work.

But I have to say his management seems to be failing both him and us the fans. I know this sounds harsh, but a bit more effort on the PR front wouldnt go amiss. And I dont mean more items from the RW Boutique!

I hope they are happy too - £150 is an awful lot for anyone's money to pay for a book! You can start a library for that!

But, we dont know the reasons why - are we even sure it is a slip of paper as opposed to signing the actual book?

Then again was there a reason (apart from security issues and scheduling) for Rob not doing a store book signing like Gary Barlow and dear I say Katie Price? Mind you Im sure we would have found something wrong with that as well!

Maybe they should just have waited until he did have time to sign them - I know it's 1000 signatures, but it would only have been one afternoon in the office. A bloody boring afternoon, admittedly!!! but still only a few hours out of his life

And it's not as if this book hasn't been a long time coming, and they asked people to register their interest presumably with a view to the planning of it all.

Is it? So therefore gong by that theory anything that his fans say goes. So I guess he shouldnt complain when fans ask him..

1) marry/ not to marry
2) join/ not to join TT
3) do or not do more concerts
4) sign everything/sign nothing
5) do more interviews/ do less interviews
6) produce more records, dont produce
7) do whatever, even if it costs his health and well being
etc

My point is, what you or I may think is Rob's "job", isnt necessarily 'correct'. There is no job description to Global Popstar. I dont know his schedule, and it's easy to cricitise when we dont have the first clue about being a popstar. We only see the glamourous or gossip side of things.

We dont know the reasoning behind the 'signature thing', so it's a little unfair to judge on what his job should or shouldnt be.

did rw.com say he was going to do any of those things? No. However they did say they had personally signed books. Therefore, him signing them is part of his job. But what the heck, they have sold and I really couldn't give a monkey's what he does anymore. I am not even bothered if he shows up at Wembley next year, to be honest. RW World has gone sour for me.

I think you have hit on a very good point here - there is a world of difference between RW.com and Robbie Williams. They bare the same name, but they are 2 completely different entities. Robbie does not run RW.com, which is why I think that if 'they' - ie the people who run RW.com, are going to organise book signings of this nature, maybe they should liaise with Robbie first. RW.com indicated or implied that Robbie had personally signed the books. For all we know Robbie was just told to "sign this" and then some junior assistant keyed in 'x' number of copies on the photocopier, cut them out and stuck them in the books.

I can understand why some people are getting a little bit fed up with RW World, but it is important to distinguish that half the stuff that is going on in Robbieland, the man himself probably has no idea about. Maybe that is a fault on his part, I dont know, but the whole book signing issue as we dont know the full details, and will probably never know, cant be blamed all on Robbie, unless it is later proved that he just couldnt be bothered. In which case you will find me head of the Robbie bashing queue.

did rw.com say he was going to do any of those things? No. However they did say they had personally signed books. Therefore, him signing them is part of his job.

I must admit I do agree with this.

It's not a big deal (to me) in the scheme of things. I'm still adoring the man/the music/the reunion BUT he is a man who occasionally has to do his job just like the rest of us and there are bits of it he might hate just like the rest of it.

So,to me, if it states on his official website that a book will be signed, then I believe 99.99% of the population would ASSUME that meant he would sign the actual book, not a scrappy piece of paper that would then be stuck inside said book.

I haven't got the deluxe book and haven't got the slightest intention of buying it. I'm quite happy with the bog standard edition but it's all about a realistic expectation and if I had paid 150.00 for a signed copy, I would be disappointed.

A large part of Robbie's attraction can be linked to the fact that he has "the common touch" despite his millions in the bank. Things like this could chip away at that image for some fans.

Yes the great scheme of things, this is less than a half a drop in the ocean! I admit, I dont get the attraction of collecting autographs, but if it makes people happy, great:).

As to doing his job, unless you know what his job description is, then no one as a say how he should do it (opinions aside.) No one but Rob has the first clue about his job - so is it fair for people to make requests, demand or place expectations when we have no real idea apart from what we read in a newspaper?

That's not making excuses for him, we can always choose to buy or not buy Robbie's records. But I think it is wrong to make assumptions or have great expectations outside of making records.

I agree that if the official site says that Robbie has signed the book, then the actual book should be signed. But perhaps in Robbie's defence, is he aware that any of this is going on? OK maybe he should make an effort, but that's another point. If the people who run the site make a claim, then it is their responsibility to ensure that what they say, goes. Hence shouldnt we vent against RW.com and not Robbie?

Are we even certain the signature is on a separate piece of paper?

Again I agree with you that these 'events' do chip away at his positive image. But if we place expectations upon someone, whom most of us have never met in real life, who later unknowingly falls below the mark, is the fault theirs, or ours?

There is a general contradiction in some people's argument when they say Robbie has the common touch, yet when he does something we dont like, he is suddenly out of touch. Maybe he was never in touch with us common folk, we just wanted to think he was!

These will be the final dates added to the tour schedule so make sure you're up bright and early and your phone and computer are powered up and ready to go.

Important information about Sunday 3rd July show at Wembley
In order to accommodate an extra date at Wembley, it has been necessary to reschedule the show that was planned to take place on Sunday 3rd July to Thursday 30th June. The promoters apologise for the inconvenience this may cause to you, but tickets remain valid for customers who have already bought them for Sunday 3rd July. Anyone who cannot make the rescheduled date is eligible for a full refund from their point of purchase.

Take That said:“We are really sorry to have to move the dates in London but we’d heard that there was a lot of disappointment from those not being able get tickets and this was the only way that we could fit in another show. We hope everyone understands and look forward to seeing you all next year.”

I am furious!!! I was coming all the way from Australia for this and had planned my whole holiday around the 3rd of July. I can't make the 30th of June as I will be going through out France. Also can't even try for tickets on the 4 th July as I will be flying all the way back to Australia. My hotel is a waste that I booked for the concert also now and can't get my money back. Words can't describe how I'm feeling right now. Gutted, furious mad, upset, sick to my stomach. Don't they think how this will affect everyone, also all their international fans coming all the way for this one night.:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:mad::mad::mad::mad:
I can't listen to their new Cd now and don't even want to watch 'Don't look back" DVD when it arrives now. Feel sick.

there are options, for example, many fans have tickets to swap or sell. You can try for the July 1-2 tickets. Many of the secondary seller sites have tickets for those nights as well and you might be able to swap with them for a better for you date.

I fail to see how this is their fault or makes them bad people. They are trying to accommodate the most fans possible. They are not canceling a night just moving and it sucks that some people cannot go but a lot more people all over England the world will be able to now go by this simple shift.

Also, I doubt they did it without thought and care. It is not the first time, a concert has had to be rescheduled and it is not a personal affront to anyone going on July 3. It was simply the most logical decision to accommodate the most amount of people possible.

And I am not sure how anyone's travel arrangements are their fault/responsibility either. It is not there fault that anyone put down non-refundable room reservations or airline tickets. All tickets are exchangeable/modifiable for a fee and most airlines if you explain the circumstances will help you out and possibly wave/lower the fees associated.

I get that people are upset but they gave the most notice possible so people can make changes and work out other options. The concert is over seven months from now.

Before I get attacked about not understanding, I am coming in from Los Angeles for it have to deal with all this as well.

I can't change dates as I will be in France, and was coming on the Euro Star from Paris on the 3rd July and flying back to Australia on the 4th. I had booked my whole trip around this, and my mother is taking time off work to look after our 2 kids. We live in Brisbane and she in Melbourne, and are flying the kids down to her.
I have contacted the airlines and have told them my story, but it make no difference to them and will charge me 365 pounds per person, and there's 2 of us to change our booking, then you have to add another hotel night on, and another day off work and so the list goes on.
Yes the concert is over 7 months but could you afford to pay for all these extra charges. And did you have tickets for the 3rd July. Yes you said you are coming from LA, but I bet if you did have this night booked you wouldn't be this calm.

Dee,can you not get a full refund for your ticket and get insurance back on your flights etc? . If not swop your ticket for a cheaper one for the day before`s concert, they have to refund your ticket as it is there liability and any money you lose on swoping flights you can gain a bit back on getting a cheaper gig ticket the night before,it is not a perfect solution but very doable and will give you major cash damage control. There are still tickets left.Good Luck.

Thanks Shar, but we will be in Paris on the 2nd doing a tour around the Effiel Tower and caberat show and stuff like that. We had planned our whole holiday around these tickets. Coming from Australia we wanted to cram in so much as Uk/Europe is so far away for us and so expensive.
Never in a million years did I think that something like dates changed could ever happen, otherwise yeah we would of booked more time in London. But can afford extra accomodation to just hang around in case dates swap. I feel so stupid now for organizing everything around this stupid concert! At least Robbie never forgets us Australians!
Only if I could afford the 780pounds or something to change my flights and fly home on the 5th July, then I would try for tickets on the 4th.
I know you are trying to help, so thanks so much for that, and I will being getting a refund, I just feel like an idiot being pushed around like this and can't do anything about it, as we are nobodies to them.

Robbie appeared on Ireland's The Late Late Show last night when he opened the show with his classic hit Feel, before being joined by Mark and Gary from Take That to catch up with host Ryan Tubridy.

Head over to RTE.ie here (http://www.rte.ie/player/#v=1086836) to watch as Robbie makes a couple of ladies very very happy when he steps out into the audience and serenades them during Feel. Take That's Second Single Is… Kidz! (http://www.robbiewilliams.com/news-blogs/take-thats-second-single-is%E2%80%A6-kidz)

The second single from Take That's multi-platinum, chart-topping album, Progress, will be Kidz and is released on Monday, 28th February 2011.

Kidz is highlighted as the album's key track by Q Magazine, who wrote that the "reintroduction of Robbie Williams into the Take That ranks gave them a shot in the arm" and that Kidz is one of the "brilliantly mad future-disco titans" from Progress.

I wonder how the other four members of the band feel?

I think the real issue was that fact that Robbie's PR team blew the Take That surprise. TT had posted on fb/tweeted a big announcement was going today so basically stay tuned and Robbie's team beat them to it. So when TT posted, the announcement is up, people were like, "yeah Robbie already told." It was very bad form and should not have happened. They are going to have to get who the information provider is and who is the follower

Yes, and they've all been at pains to emphasise that it's been good for all of them because they've all been involved.

It just seemed an odd and unnecessary thing to say, to me, anyway.

Robbie's BRITs Triumphs

Take That Win Best Group At BRIT Awards

16 Feb 2011
Take That enjoyed a successful evening at the glitzy BRIT Awards last night by scooping the Best Group award as well as performing their new single, Kidz.

Surprisingly, it was the first time in the band's 21-year history that they were crowned Best Group at the awards, with last night's prize taking Robbie's total haul of BRITs to a phenomenal 17!

This year's show was overhauled and upgraded with a larger venue, new voting system and the iconic trophy was re-styled by legendary British fashion designer, Vivienne Westwood. Other winners on the night included Tinie Tempah, who walked away with best British breakthrough act and best single, plus Rihanna, Cee Lo Green and Arcade Fire.

Kidz Performance
Earlier in the evening, the Take That boys raised the curtain on the awards (and the roof!), with an epic performance of Kidz, which is released next week on Monday, 21st February 2011. Take a look below…

Limited Special Edition CDs: Your Feedback

23 Feb 2011
Not long ago we announced what we believed was exciting news that Robbie's first seven studio albums were going to be released as limited special editions, packaged with extra content. Since we published this, we've been very interested in the feedback the news has received. There have certainly been mixed feelings from you all about these, and so we wanted to share with you the thinking and creative reasoning behind these releases.

We wanted you to know the story of how everyone involved in these releases has come together to create something really quite special, as EMI explain:

'The intention of this series of releases is to relive the story of each amazing album for the first time, in an official set of album releases, using Robbie’s show-stopping TV and live performances (or ‘Shorts’ in the case of Rudebox).

Each album is packaged with a companion DVD to tell the story visually, 'as it was happening at the time', through classic TV performances. We hoped this would really get those nostalgic feelings flowing!

By releasing the DVD as a companion piece alongside the album for what is the first re-release of the original studio albums, we’re telling their whole story – setting the scenes it was at their original time of release. And they really are fantastic; as this the first time the studio albums have been re-released in any way, we felt it made absolute sense to include the TV performances within the context of the original albums.

The price of these new releases compares favourably to both a DVD only release and a typical newly released CD; in fact several very well known online retailers are currently selling them for £8.99. This is undeniably great value for what is largely previously unreleased footage packaged along with the original album on CD and complete with brand new sleeve note commentary, which takes us back to key events in Robbie's career at the time of the original album release. The format of a 'Special Edition'; an original album with extra music or 'CD with DVD', as is the case with this series, is a familiar approach to restoring and reinstating the studio album catalogue of a major artist and it seemed the appropriate moment to do this during a time in which Robbie's 20 years in music are being celebrated.

We also made the considered decision not to remaster the music on these CDs after careful discussion with all concerned as it was agreed the sound quality was state-of-the-art on the originals.

If you have discovered, or re-discovered, Robbie through the recent In and Out of Consciousness Greatest Hits release, or through the excitement around his reunion with Take That, this series gives you the chance to revisit the story of his career through these classic album releases.

If you are an iTunes customer, we have made the visual element of all the releases (except ‘Swing When You’re Winning’ due to technical reasons) available digitally too – so you don’t have to buy the audio or the CD again if you want to download the visual element only.

The new releases are limited editions – for fans and collectors. They’re limited to a worldwide run of 100K across all seven titles.

Much time and effort went into researching and licensing the various TV performances commissioning new sleeve notes and redesigning the artwork. These really were a labour of love that we hope you will enjoy them when they're released on 21st March.'

As always, we value your feedback and we want to hear your thoughts

Take That In The Sunday Times This Weekend

24 Feb 2011
This Sunday make sure you're up bright and early and at the newsagents to pick up your copy of The Sunday Times.

Take That will not only be gracing the cover of the Culture section but they'll also be revealing all to the newspaper in what is their first interview since the success of Progress.

We can't wait to read all about it!

Look out for Ayda and maybe Robbie, or though prob not him as well, at The Oscar Parties etc,if you remember that was one of the few times Robbie was on his own when Ayda was at the Oscars last year. He was picking up a German award and said she was not with him, there were also pics of her with a statement saying she wanted to marry as soon as poss at the Vanity Fayre Oscar do, he was only in Germany maybe a day without her anyway it seemed. To be honest I think once he has fulfilled as much of his commitments to T/T he feels able he will go back to his LA house with Ayda and his dogs amaybe to maybe have kids as Ayda wants and keeping her is his main priory now obviously, which is understandable as she gives him everything he needs on all fronts and makes him feel his longed for security as well,he can then stay there in his secure and comfortable way of things rather than be a Pop Star anymore,he would rather be a bit bored and safe than go back to the ruthless world he has to be a part of to maintain his top career in Music and he does not want or need to be on his own with all that stress anymore,I never thought he would choose to be this way and give up Entertainment but I do believe his LA way of life has more pros than cons against the Entertainment way of life for him now.I too would love to find a Male version of Ayda to calm me down a bit.

Hi Shar :)
I hope from the bottom of my heart that Robbie would manage his private life and career in the future and find the right balance.
Because would be a great pity if an artist like Robbie , with this incredible talent give up an disappear from the world of music and entertaiment .

First of all, no one knows what's going to happen in the long term. Right now, I'm guessing Rob is having a ball because he has more choices now than he has ever had in his entire career.

Second, yeah I would miss Rob if he retired, but I would rather that he was happy with whatever decision he makes, than choose a path that isnt right. Unless you have met him, you cant know how he feels. You just have to trust whatever decision he makes will be the right one for him.

Kinda concerned with your last sentence ... you have to seek your own path, you shouldnt look for someone "to calm you down a bit", you will never find him, or he will never find you. If you cant make yourself the best person you can be, how can the best person for you find you?

(Gosh, that was deep, even for me:eek:)

Interview With Alex Bilmes

9 Mar 2011
All seven of the soon-to-be-released Special Limited Editions of Robbie's studio albums are accompanied by all-new sleeve notes and information, written by music journalist and editor of Esquire Magazine, Alex Bilmes.

RobbieWilliams.com has caught up with Alex to get an introduction to the man whose words you'll be reading as you listen to your favourite Robbie albums… enjoy!

Alex, how would Robbie’s fans best know you?
They wouldn’t know me at all but it’s very kind of you to ask! I interviewed Robbie for GQ in the summer of 2009 so maybe from that and I also wrote the sleeve notes for the In And Out Of Consciousness DVD collection.

When was your first meeting with Robbie and how did this go?
Ha ha! He won’t remember this and I’m embarrassed to say it was in a nightclub in London in 1994 when he was in Take That for the first time. It was late - he was really, really famous and I was a 21 year old student. I went over and we chatted and I remember him being exactly as he is: funny and silly. It was probably another 15 years until our next meeting.

Can you describe Robbie in 5 words?
Our most brilliant pop star.

And how might he describe you in 5 words?
Can he describe me in one word? Who?!

How did you get in to writing about music in the first place?
After college I got a job at my local newspaper which I really enjoyed for a couple of years but my real passion was pop culture. I am mainly an editor but my writing is interviews and that could be with a movie star, a sportsman or an artist. Music tends to throw up interesting people like Robbie, as pop stars tend to be quite extreme characters and are fun to write about.

How many times have you written about Robbie?
Over the years, with the little mentions: loads, but an interview proper: only once.

How did you approach writing the sleeve notes to the Special Limited Editions?
A lot of it I knew, as I am a fan and I have the records and I’m familiar with them. It was a case of sitting down and listening to them again but the cool thing is that as you grow up, the thing stays the same but it might mean something completely different now as you’re ten years older and your life is totally different.

What do you think it is about Robbie that makes him so unique?
Brilliant pop stars don’t come around that often: shiny and weird. I’ve said this somewhere before – but watching his videos it’s like he’s acting out the part of a pop star at the same time as critiquing the part of a pop star. He’s also very funny and doesn’t take himself too seriously – that’s very rare with a pop star.

What’s your favourite Robbie song and album and why?
Come Undone – all the things I’ve said about him, ‘post-modern’ and not taking himself too seriously and then he comes out with a song like that – bitingly honest and merciless with himself. Which is a great way to be, otherwise it’s all just a pose. It’s also a very clever pop song, in the way that the lyrics are so hard hitting and counter-pointed with such beautiful music.

It's Take That vs Fake That For Comic Relief

18 Mar 2011
Take That: first there were five, then there were four, then five again, and now there's ten… well, kind of, because the Take That boys will be joined on-stage by five of the UK's best comedians for one night only - all in aid of Comic Relief.

In the hilariously-titled band Fake That, Robbie will be impersonated by stand-up comedian John Bishop and Gavin and Stacy star and Soccer Aid assistant manager James Corden will become Gary Barlow! Completing the line-up, Chatty Man Alan Carr will morph into Mark Owen, comedienne Catherine Tate becomes Jason Orange and David Walliams is set to play Howard Donald again for the first time since his hilarious Rock Profile programme with Matt Lucas over a decade ago.

In the one-off sketch, which is part of Red Nose Day’s big TV extravaganza, the five comedians will take to the stage for a Take That tribute band audition that's judged by none other than the real Take That boys… Simon Cowell eat your heart out!

The fun-filled show, Comic Relief: Funny For Money, starts on BBC One tonight from 19:00 GMT, so be sure to grab some food, settle down in front of the telly for an evening full of entertainment and please remember to give as generously to Comic Relief as you can. Money raised will help extremely vulnerable and disadvantaged people living in the UK and some of the world's poorest countries.

I have already asked, if it will be available for other countries at some point, but it might take a bit to get a reply.
It is a UK charity, that might be the reason, why it is only available for UK residents at the moment.

I've pre-ordered the first two (although they haven't arrived from Amazon yet) because:

My copies are old and tatty and needed to be replaced anyway

As a fan from C1999/2000 I haven't seen a lot of the early early stuff so am interested to see it even if I just watch it once.

I'm not the kind of fan who has stacks and stacks of stuff on him, I'm not a hoarder, so it's good for me. :)

I too will be ordering some of the live performance dvd's. I only just purchased his cd's over the past 2 yrs. and I'd love to watch him on the big screen instead of Youtube. I hope they're for my region. Someday I'll get a computer hooked up to my TV. I did just recently find behind the scene videos of him, specifically Rob singing close up to the camera (lovely, one of thase glimpses of the real person moments) on a break from filming him jumping on the trampoline. Of course I should have favourited it but I didn't & now I can't find it again. Could anyone help me navigate back there. This was video, not stills.

Robbie Provides Music For Dressage Rider Richard Davison

25 Mar 2011

Robbie's hit singles will be setting the backdrop to the new blockbuster dressage freestyle for Great Britain's Olympic dressage rider, Richard Davison, in the run-up to London 2012.

Classic hit singles, including Let Me Entertain You and Rock DJ have been reworked by Holland's Joost Peters, responsible for some of the finest Kurs to date, and, under conductor Clark Rundell, the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra's interpretation guarantees a massive and beautiful feel.

"The music of Robbie and Guy make this the best kur dressage has ever heard - it is simply fantastic and takes the sport to another level," said Peters. "The beautiful melodies and beat have a real get-up and dance effect. These guys are legends - listening to Guy and the orchestra playing my arrangement has been a surreal experience for me."

Davison, who is aiming for his fourth Olympics and Britain's dressage team captain, will ride the 12 year bay gelding Hiscox Artemis to the composition. "Both Artemis and I love the music - it has got a great beat and really makes him rock," he said.

Pet Shop Boys To Join Take That On Tour (http://www.robbiewilliams.com/news-blogs/pet-shop-boys-to-join-take-tour)

http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/1176/psbt.jpg

4 Apr 2011

Take That's Progress Live 2011 Tour kicks off towards the end of next month and, just when we thought we couldn't take any more excitement, the most successful duo in UK music history have been announced as very special guests for the 37-date extravaganza…

Pet Shop Boys, who Robbie collaborated with on his single She's Madonna (http://www.robbiewilliams.com/discography/singles/shes-madonna) and Rudebox album track We're The Pet Shop Boys, will be joining Take That on tour and, needless to say, Robbie is delighted: “I’m a huge Pet Shop Boys fan so for me it will be an absolute joy to be able to watch them every night.”

Speaking of the recent announcement, Pet Shop Boys said: "We are delighted to accept Take That’s invitation to be part of their Progress show and tour which is undoubtedly going to be one of the most exciting events of 2011. We look forward to every night being a huge celebration of pop music.”

They'll be warming up the crowds with a 40-minute set which will include highlights of their recent Pandemonium tour and was designed by Es Devlin, who is also part of the creative team working on the Progress Live 2011 tour.

The duo have sold over 50 million records and scooped seven platinum, two gold and four silver albums in the UK alone. In 2009 they picked up the BRITs' Outstanding Contribution To Music award, an accolade Robbie himself picked up the following year in 2010.

“Pet Shop Boys was the first CD I ever bought” said Gary. “I've followed their whole career and always loved their unique approach to records and live performance. That combined with two lovely people means we’re in for a great tour.” Jason added, “I’m flattered and very happy they’ve agreed to do it. They’re so talented; I thought they’d be above it and us.”

Roll on May 27th, we can't wait!

7 Apr 2011

Following a cracking Red Nose Day a few weeks ago, which had us all rolling in the aisles, especially when it came to the Take That and Fake That sketch, we are very pleased to tell you all that the #TwitRelief (http://twitter.com/search/twitrelief#search?q=twitrelief) auction raised a whopping £286,074 for Comic Relief.

We're also delighted to announce that we have winner of Robbie's Superfollow TwitRelief auction, who won with a top bid of £1,800! Our very generous and very lucky winner has not only won a 'follow' by Robbie on Twitter (previously only following @TakeThat!) but will also get one of their tweets retweeted by @robbiewilliams and will be tweeted at by @robbiewilliams!

On top of all that, they'll get their hands on ALL FIVE of 'Fake That' outfits! Based on Take That's 'Do What You Like' gear, this fantastic bunch of goodies includes five gorgeous leather jackets, two of them fringed and studded, five pairs of trousers and five studded leather codpieces - as worn by the 'Fake That' comedians on the night of Red Nose Day!!

We had an absolutely amazing response and would like to thank everyone for taking part and helping to raise such a huge amount of money for Red Nose Day.

The night and the auction might be over, but if you'd still like to donate to Comic Relief it's not too late, click here to pledge your money now. (https://www.rednoseday.com/donate)

"I found I really liked painting"
8 Apr 2011
Blog Author:
Robert Williams
Hi All,

I know it's been ages since you have heard anything from me. I have been flying round the world on promo with the TT lads and loving it...amazing. In our down time...which hasn't been much, i found I really liked painting - of course I then had to turn my whole garage into 'art club' and got all my la mates into it too.

Here's some of my stuff. my favourites I will put on t shirts in the name of my grandad Jack Farrell - what do you think? Ayda did one too, I'll try and find that and show it to you as well. See you on tour - it's going to be ace

You Know Me Book Available In German

8 Apr 2011
You Know Me, Robbie's latest book, has been translated into German meaning more of you can now enjoy the photographic trip down memory lane and hilarious anecdotes and accompanying notes Robbie and Chris Heath wrote.

With a new sleeve that differs from the English version of the book, German readers around the world in for a treat! The book is available now and all we can say is… wunderbar!

If you've already got the book, or had a chance to take a look at it, the eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed a few mistakes in the lyrics printed on the back.

In a note from the publishers, Heyne, they said: "We are, embarrassingly, aware of the errors in the You Know Me lyrics on the back of the book. These will be corrected when another print of the book is run but fans may wish to snap these up as we imagine this version may become a bit of a collectable item."

Pick up the German version of You Know Me : (http://www.robbiewilliams.com/news-blogs/you-know-me-book-available-in-german)

LOL they didn't hang about, did they? Have they no shame? £34.99 for a T shirt with marty Feldman on? They are having a laugh :)

I have asked the question whether they have sought the permission of Marty Feldman's estate to sell those T shirts, and how much of the £34.99 will be going to charity - I would be grateful if one of the mods here ensures that the question is passed on to the site admin.

Crikey, the speed that that the first t-shirt has gone on sale suggests to me they were already being manufactured before Robbie's measured the response of his fans on here

I have to say, that one wouldn't have been my first choice. How many fans on here are familiar with the comedy routines of Marty Feldman

It is pretty special to have a t-shirt portraying Robbie's artistic talents, and he is good, but I can't afford that price for a t-shirt even if a large percentage of it is going to charity.

Exactly...surely the one with his own, younger face would have been more popular?

The haste with which they have been put on sale after the blog suggests that they were ready to go anyway and not a lot of market research for popularity of design was considered necessary. And it doesn't say anything about any donations to any charity, as far as I can see. Marty Feldman suffered from Graves disease, that's where his unique features came from, so a percentage of the profits to the Graves Trust would be a nice gesture. If they sell any that is:p

You could have all 3 Take that 5 design T shirts from Tescos for £34.99 and still have some change:D:D

Jackie
12-04-11, 07:08 PM
I think it is an odd choice to sell the 'Marty' tee first. The 'Image Not Available' and the young Robbie with the 'Let Me Entertain You' design around his eye were probably more sellable and, I also think it is a bit 'iffy' to sell a tee 4 days after a blog.

Laura130262

Perfect choice for me - I love that MF one. I think the design is great.

But there's no way I'm paying 34.99 for a t shirt - way too expensive. There's a flipping recession here in the UK Robbie!!

Fifteen/twenty quid I might have done though. I'll be interested to see if the proceeds are going to charity although I think if they were, it would already be stated.

Is it really just me who doesn't get why anyone on a Robbie Williams fansite would want a T shirt with Marty Feldman on, no matter how much it was??? The fact it is Marty Feldman is coincidental.... I still wouldn't get it if it was anybody's face other than Robbie Williams:confused:

For me - I wouldn't buy one with Robbie's face on - it' s too obvious - but I'd buy a T shirt designed by him because I would know Robbie had designed it. :)

I wouldn't be bothered about whether anyone else knew he had designed it - I would and that would make me want to own it. I'm not paying 34.99 for it though. It's a ridiculous amount to charge,

The same with the hoodies they were selling ages ago. I wouldn't want one with RW splashed all over it but I'd want one because it was an RW sweatshirt. I'd want a tiny little logo that only I knew was there.

Does that make me weird? LOL :D

Chrissie

I can understand that part. The thinking is that Robbie's art in any form would be an investment, and in years to come that may well be the case. And if people want to buy it on that basis - or if they want to buy it simply on the basis that they like it - then that's their affair.

But several things about this whole affair make me sad.

Firstly, that it now transpires that Robbie blogged only because there was something to sell, not out of the goodness of his heart. Secondly that they thought his fans would be stupid enough not to realise that there was no way that the shirts could have been in the shop 4 days after that blog unless it was already a done deal. And thirdly, going on from the last point, that part makes me sad because either Robbie was complicit, implying that he holds the same low opinion of us, or else he wasn't, implying that his own people are using him as a puppet in a situation that has raised more than a few eyebrows. Either way he doesn't come out smelling of roses. Fourthly, while I am on a roll, I am sad because every carrot that is dangled in front of us, in the form of blogs, or new content on the site, is seemingly quickly followed by a stick in the form of something else for us to spend our money on. Which brings me on to my last point.

Mostly I am sad because being a Robbie Williams fan these days involves so much cynicism when it used to be so much fun....
