Actually Chrissie - I'm not even convinced Robbie wrote that last blog - I thought that as soon as I read it. I got the feeling the web site wrote it in his style. The spelling had miraculously improved, no humour and it just didn't sound quite right. :confused:

But regardless of that - people have a choice whether they wish to buy or not and if the price were right I might have done. But the price has taken that choice away.

You have to treat your fans with respect and although (IMO) some Robbie fans don't treat him with any respect, plenty still do and kind of deserve better than to be treated like idiots. :eek: No one can afford 34.99 for a ten quid T shirt especially in the middle of a recession.

The same with the hoodies they were selling ages ago. I wouldn't want one with RW splashed all over it but I'd want one because it was an RW sweatshirt. I'd want a tiny little logo that only I knew was there.

I must admit it does prove things have changed it is official now,it is Mr Williams and Wife and fans are two very seperate items to Robbie now.We are Biz,they are personal,two very seperate entity`s to him.

I don't think it has anything to do with his marital status, Shar. In fact, I am pretty sure that Mrs W would be encouraging him to stay engaged with his fans. And whilst I am sure that he meant it when he stood on that stage at Knebworth and begged us never to leave him, I'm under no illusion that we have been anything other than business to him.

But as Laura said, it's all about respect, and there's a big difference between treating your fans as business customers and treating them with apparent contempt.

Also, the dots were there, and the capital letters weren't - but isn't this a perfect example of what I was saying about cynicism; could you ever imagine in The Good Old Days that we would be deconstructing a blog to determine whether it was really him that wrote it? There are a few Marty Feldman tshirts for sale on Amazon/Ebay etc for under £15 if anyone's interested. I don't know if a Marty tshirt would be worth an extra £20 because it is printed from a painting by RW which has been copied from a photo taken by somebody else. It isn't to me but each to their own ....

The paintings made me smile which is a good thing. The business side of things ticks me off because of the transparency. I hope he's enjoying painting anyway. There's something about messing about with paint and canvasses which is immensely satisfying :)

It would make a difference to me that Robbie had designed it. I would think that's the whole point of his selling them. - That fans think they're getting a bit of him. :eek: I don't believe hardly any fans would be completely objective when viewing anything of an artist they enjoy. Biasness would come into it. :eek:

I suppose it's the same as getting an autograph, it's just a tenuous "connection" to an artist you enjoy. And I'd like the fact that I would know that it was Robbie's work but no one else would.

But it's all irrelevant because however much my biasness towards Robbie could influence me, it wouldn't counter the fact that the price is a total rip off and as has been said by others , the blog appears to be nothing more than a publicity exercise to promote sales which leaves a bit of a nasty taste in my mouth.

So the T shirts are a no no for me. It's no big deal. He won't miss my 34.99 I don't suppose. :)

For all the years, that I have been bashed for pointing out Brand Robbie moments.. I gave that last 96 or so hours AND this Tee

I like the shirt but it is not worth $56+ dollars to me. If I am buying an expensive designer t-than I am fine with that amount, but this is not that shirt. This one have very limited usage in my wordrobe. For example, it is not an upscale, with jeans and a blazer tee because it looks way too bulky. Also, I have no idea who this guy is, which would be the same with the vast majority of his international fans, I would image. I don't want a Robbie faced tee but he had some cute, no people ones that would have been better

First of all, it looks cut for a guy when the VAST majority of fans buying are females. Secondly, it is a musician's website, not the show floor at Kitson. There is a lack of any knowledge of the consumers.

I am thrilled it is not candles and a vile scarf with cowboys but seriously,...:rolleyes:

If you want to sell them for that much hook-up with a luxary lable and sell them in stores. Added bonus, they would have the tee cut to fit women's bodies and made from the right cotton. Not, here and not these.


That said, I think the comic relief T- will be the take that one with red-shopped stuff that was behind them when they talked and that I would buy

ROBBIE WILLIAMS proves he is pop's biggest art-throb - by revealing a talent for painting.

The 37-year-old TAKE THAT singer used his blog to tell fans how he picked up a brush during days off from gigs and recording.

Robbie, who showed examples of his work, said: "In our down time, which hasn't been much, I found I really liked painting. My favourites I will put on T shirts. What do you think?"

Angels star Robbie said he has turned the garage of his LA home into a gallery. One of his paintings appears to be a black and white image of himself as a child, but wearing the make-up from the video to Let Me Entertain You.

Firstly, that it now transpires that Robbie blogged only because there was something to sell, not out of the goodness of his heart. Secondly that they thought his fans would be stupid enough not to realise that there was no way that the shirts could have been in the shop 4 days after that blog unless it was already a done deal. And thirdly, going on from the last point, that part makes me sad because either Robbie was complicit, implying that he holds the same low opinion of us, or else he wasn't, implying that his own people are using him as a puppet in a situation that has raised more than a few eyebrows. Either way he doesn't come out smelling of roses. Fourthly, while I am on a roll, I am sad because every carrot that is dangled in front of us, in the form of blogs, or new content on the site, is seemingly quickly followed by a stick in the form of something else for us to spend our money on. Which brings me on to my last point.

Mostly I am sad because being a Robbie Williams fan these days involves so much cynicism when it used to be so much fun....

I can understand that part. The thinking is that Robbie's art in any form would be an investment, and in years to come that may well be the case. And if people want to buy it on that basis - or if they want to buy it simply on the basis that they like it - then that's their affair.

Following comments on yesterday's news (http://www.robbiewilliams.com/news-blogs/marty-t-shirt-sale-now) about the Marty t-shirt being on sale, RobbieWilliams.com would like to state the following:

There is no pressure on anyone to buy anything in the RobbieWilliams.com store. The price tags of our goods reflect the quality of the materials and the limited quantities manufactured, meaning that they cost considerably more to produce than a widely-available item on the High Street.

The Marty t-shirt is in the shop (http://www.robbiewilliams.com/shop/farrell-apparel/marty-t-shirt) now at £34.99. All proceeds will be going to charity.

As a piece of background to this particular artwork, one of Robbie's most treasured pictures is one of his father and Marty when they worked together in Derby in 1974, the year of Robbie's birth. They became good friends but shortly after that Marty went off to work with Mel Brooks on Young Frankenstein and Silent Movie in LA.

That said, the fabric of the shirt still looks too bulky and heavy to be useful. They should be thinking babydoll tee fabric

The fact that the blog was pointless still leaves me feeling disappointed in Robbie - whether he wrote it personally or not. Why ask for fans' opinions about selling t-shirts with his artwork on when they had already been manufactured?????

The Marty Feldman tee would only appeal to *cough cough* older fans who were familiar with his comedy routines. Nobody knew about the personal connection Robbie had with him until rw.com had to respond to the backlash to how the marketing had been handled. But - just because MF is meaningful in Robbie's life doesn't mean he is of significance in his fans' lives. I've noticed that a lot about Robbie over the years - because he personally places a lot of value on something he presumes his fans will too - I find this "assumption" both endearing and arrogant in equal measures.

I am sure there will be plenty of fans, probably a lot who don't visit the forum or post, who will buy this tee and subequent ones. It would be churlish to hope they don't sell well as in a "serves you right" sense. There's a couple I'd like but I wouldn't spend that much on myself for a t-shirt - it would have to be as a birthday or Christmas present from somebody else.

Robbie and multiple Grammy award-winning country superstar Brad Paisley, have joined forces to record a track for what is going to be Pixar's summer blockbuster hit, Cars 2.

Director John Lasseter describes Collision Of Worlds, which is both written and performed by Robbie and Brad, as a "really cool rock ‘n' roll song". He goes on to say: "It’s something very different from what Brad normally does, but he and Robbie have created a fantastic song that captures the friendship of McQueen and Mater over the end credits.”

Speaking of how the track came together in the studio, Robbie said: “It’s an international kind of song that’s inspired very much by the film–it wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the story. Brad turned up with his guitar and a basic understanding of what he wanted the song to sound like. He played me a few chords and we noodled and twiddled our way into forming this song. It’s back and forth colloquialisms between two different countries speaking the same language and not understanding each other—until now.” (Scroll down to watch two clips of Robbie talking about working on the movie.)

Meanwhile, Brad Paisley talks of working with Robbie: “The song is a rock vocal event with one of the most talented people I’ve ever met, Robbie Williams. It was John’s idea to bring these two worlds together – combining the English and American takes on music. We’re both out of our comfort zone, seeing what happens when you’re forced into going new places, which is really what ‘Cars 2’ is about. It’s totally parallel to the story.”

The movie, which is released on 24th June, will feature Robbie and Brad's duet played out during the film's end credits. The soundtrack will be available from 14th June on Walt Disney Records.

The Supporters Club are now responsible for giving the fans an opportunity to be heard at the EGM, and will hold an open meeting on Saturday May 28th at Baddeley Green Working Mens Club from 2pm.

Progress Live 2011 Tour - Opening Night Round-Up & Setlist

Read on for a round-up of the opening night of Take That's Progress Live 2011 tour which opened tonight at Sunderland's Stadium of Light.

WARNING: If you're going to see the tour and don't want know anything about it stop reading now!

Take That bring Sunderland to their feet, kicking off their 36 date European Progress Live Tour by unveiling a fully operational 20 metre mechanical man as the stage centrepiece!

Take That kicked-off their Progress Live 2011 tour tonight Friday May 27th at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light in spectacular fashion. The tour, one of the most highly anticipated music events of the summer, is the first time the band have toured as a five-piece since 1995. The awesome live show celebrated their biggest hits from the last two decades, saw Robbie take to the stage to perform songs from his incredible chart-topping solo career and revealed an amazing set which includes a fully operational 20 metre tall man the band have nicknamed ‘OM’.

Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen took to the stage at 8.30pm to start the show to a deafening crowd reception starting as they meant to finish, with their biggest hit to date ‘Rule The World’. They then delivered four more of their biggest songs as a four piece including: ‘Greatest Day’ (including a huge yellow confetti canon blast), ‘Hold Up A Light’, ‘Patience’ and ‘Shine’ (which saw the band joined onstage by an Alice in Wonderland style dancing cast of dancing trees, roller-skating bees and huge caterpillar).

Next four became five, as Take That briefly united onstage ‘virtually’ through a huge video screen to sing their own version of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band; creating the bridge between the first two parts of the show.
Robbie Williams then kicked off his solo set with a stadium thumping ‘Let Me Entertain You’ which had the crowd jumping off their feet. His set proceeded through his own classics: ‘Rock DJ’ (where he climbed into a glass chariot to be pulled around the stage by dancers in roller-skates), ‘Come Undone’, ‘Feel’ (which saw him winched out to the audience) and of course finishing with the amazing ‘Angels’.

Before the five are reunited properly onstage a group of ominous looking Shaolin monks adorned in red cloaks swinging lanterns walk from the B-stage to the main stage to introduce their arrival. Take That then sing the song that marked their historic return; ‘The Flood’. For this the dancers performed an amazing routine taking place on a wall of water while the band sang from the highest part of the stage.

Robbie threw himself off the top for the finale of ‘The Flood’ to the floor via suspension cables before the band break into an explosive version of ‘SOS’ from their record breaking album ‘Progress’. This is the point where the audience are first introduced to a huge mechanical man who is revealed from behind the stage and slides out in a sitting position for the guys to sing ‘Underground Machine’ (again from ‘Progress’) to rapturous cheers from the audience.

The band then move to the B stage to perform ‘Kidz’ where they start an old skool dance-off involving Jason and Howard, flanked by human chess pieces dressed in black and white. ‘Pretty Things’ is performed back on the main stage with Gary and Robbie being lifted up by OM’s hands as a beautiful ballet dancer flits between the two stages.

Next the band share a few laughs with each other and the audience about old times before gathering around a piano for a medley of ‘Million Love Songs’, ‘Babe’, ‘Everything Changes’, ‘Back For Good’ and ‘Pray’ the final song for which they get up and do the original dance routine while the crowd go crazy.

Gary, Howard, Jason, Mark and Robbie then begin what has to be one of the high points of the show: new XMen single ‘Love, Love’ featuring twenty dancers in gas masks flanking the band on either side of the main stage, while the mechanical man moves out into the middle of the stadium (carrying the band), with an awesome futuristic landscape on the VT behind which takes up the entire back wall.

As the show draws near to its finale the band break into ‘Never Forget’ as OM reveals his full height (20 metres) and the band then finish with ‘No Regrets’, a fiery performance of ‘Relight My Fire’ (with Robbie singing Lulu’s part) closing the show with Gary Barlow leading on the beautiful ‘Eight Letters’ (also the final track on ‘Progress’).

Progress Live: Extra Wembley Seats On Sale Tomorrow

Take That's record breaking Progress Live 2011 tour pulls in to Wembley on Thursday 30th June for a record eight nights, the most nights ever played by an act in the stadium’s history.

It’s just been confirmed that filming for the tour DVD will take place over the first three nights at Wembley and extra seats, which are usually restricted view, have been released so that you can be part of the audience! These extra seats have full view of the B stage and have a specially installed video screen to capture the entire show.

Ticket are priced at just £29.50 and £39.50 and go on sale 09:00 BST, Friday 17th June.

A limited number of full priced tickets will also be released for all nights.

Robbie talks to Disney Pixar


How did you get the assignment to work on Cars 2?
Robbie: We got a call from the good people at Pixar. When Pixar calls, you have to respond in the affirmative! Their movies are massive and amazing. They’re the movies of our time and they’re classics. It’s an honor and a pleasure to be involved with them. I was very proud to be asked. For this lad from Stoke-on-Trent to come and sing for them was like ‘yes, please!’ I love that.

What was it like working with Brad Paisley?
Robbie: Working with Brad has been awesome, full stop! He’s a wonderful man first and foremost and very kind and generous of spirit. He’s a very funny guy, too. Before I met him I became a bit of a fanboy because he’s incredibly talented, plays the guitar like few people on the planet, and is just incredibly gifted. I’d like to be Brad Paisley’s cousin. I’d like that addition to my family!

What is the name of the song you wrote with Brad Paisley?
Robbie: It’s called “Collision of Worlds.” It’s an international kind of song that’s inspired very much by the film––it wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the story. Brad turned up with his guitar and a basic understanding of what he wanted the song to sound like. He played a few chords and we noodled and twiddled our way into forming this song. It’s back and forth colloquialisms between two different countries speaking the same language and not understanding each other––until now.

You got an early peek at Cars 2. How much fun was that?
Robbie: The good people at Pixar allowed us to come down and check out the movie. I was like an 8-year-old that morning. I was completely enthralled by it. The film is an absolute hoot. Even if you don’t have kids, go see the movie because it’s another classic. It’s seldom each year that truly great movies come out. Well, this is going to be one of them, if not the best of the year. It’s so well rounded, so humorous, and romantic and enchanting.

What kind of car do you drive?
Robbie: Actually, I don’t have a driver’s license. In London you just don’t drive because the traffic is terrible, so you get cabs to go everywhere, which has left me being 37 and still without a driver’s license in Los Angeles.

Are you a fan of racing?
Robbie: We have Formula 1 over in England, and it’s always been a very important part of growing up and seeing these heroes and respecting and admiring them and the glamour that surrounds them. It’s exciting.

If you could be any kind of car, what would it be?
Robbie: I think I’d be a van, to be honest. Nice and comfortable, steady, reliable. I’d like to consider myself like something sporty, but I’m not. So yeah, a minivan with a plasma screen inside, big relaxing chairs and comfort. That would be me.

The Cars 2 soundtrack is released on June 20th; the Disney Pixar film hits the track in the UK on July 22nd 2011.

Take That and Constantin Film/Impact Pictures jointly announced today that the band's next, and final, single to be released from the Progress studio sessions will be When We Were Young, on 22nd August.

The ballad, which was inspired following a private screening of the The Three Muskateers with its director Paul W. S. Anderson in LA, will be the theme song of the highly-anticipated movie, which hits the big screen from 1st September.

Speaking about the track, Gary Barlow said: “The film is visually so rich and beautiful that our main challenge was to then match it musically. We’ve returned to guitars, real pianos and a conventional song structure to achieve this. We also thought that the Musketeers reminded us of ourselves.”

Take That Mark Record-Breaking Run At Wembley With 360 Photo

Robbie, Howard, Jason, Mark and Gary brought their record-breaking Progress Live 2011 tour to a roaring finale on Saturday night when they performed the last of a run of eight dates to a sell-out crowd. Take That have smashed the previous record from over 20 years ago which was held by Michael Jackson for his 1998 Bad Tour. Thanks to all of you who bought tickets to the UK shows and came to see the five reunited again after over 15 years!

To mark the momentous occasion a 360-degree panoramic photo was taken on Saturday, the last date of the UK leg, which captures the entire crowd at Wembley Stadium. Commissioned by Wembley Stadium, Take That and The Sun this unique photo is a 'thank you' to everyone for their unprecedented support and to celebrate the band’s record breaking Wembley shows.

“Performing at Wembley Stadium is really special," said Take That, "there is no other place quite like it. The audiences have been absolutely incredible and we wanted to thank everyone who’s come to see us for all their support. We hope everyone will enjoy reliving the show and sharing their memories from our last night at Wembley with all their friends.”

The 20-gigapixel 360-degree panoramic photo will be available right here on RobbieWIlliams.com from midday (BST) on Monday 11 July. Tell your friends and get ready to tag yourself!

Take That's Progress Live 2011 is the biggest tour in UK and Irish history with over 1.76 million people having seen the show over the summer. The tour, one of the most highly anticipated music events of the summer, is the first time the band have toured as a five-piece since 1995. Audiences around the UK have been wowed by a spectacular two and a half hour set, which celebrates their biggest hits from the last two decades.

When Progress Live 2011 went on sale in October 2010, a record-breaking 1.34 million tickets were snapped up in less than 24 hours. 850,000 tickets went on sale at 09:00 on 29th October 2010 and throughout the day the band added a further 11 dates to cope with demand.

Melvin Benn, Chairman of Wembley Stadium, said: “This has been a truly remarkable tour and the band’s Wembley shows have been nothing short of spectacular. I hope the 360 photo will give fans a very special memento of the band’s record breaking Wembley shows. It’s been an incredible summer of events here at Wembley Stadium and we are very proud to have written a new chapter in the stadium’s hall of fame.”

The photo was captured by renowned photographer Jeffrey Martin.

How does the 360 photo work?
The shoot itself is done with a professional grade digital SLR camera and long lens mounted on a robotic tripod head which turns, focuses and snaps photos in a continuous motion around 360-degrees until the entire inside space of the stadium has been captured.

Upwards of 1000 individual photographs are then sorted, merged and enhanced using 360Cities.net’s automated stitching technology to produce a finished image that would otherwise take days or weeks to create. A turbo-charged computer with more cores and gigabytes of RAM than you knew could be levered into a computer make it possible for the Progress Live Tour gigapixel panorama to be available online the following day, ready for people to view and tag via their Facebook accounts.

Regardless of the music, the shows, the videos, the albums, the tour - the very best part of this reunion for me is their renewed friendship and love and there it is on that video for everyone to see.

East Africa is in a state of crisis and, as UK Ambassador for UNICEF, Robbie is asking for your help.

The devastating drought, the worst in 50 years, the conflict and the rising food prices have together created a situation that means over 2m children under the age of five in the region are currently at risk. Risk of disease. Risk of starvation.

In just one refugee camp in Kenya, there are nearly half a million people in urgent need of food, water and basic healthcare. The situation throughout the region is becoming more and more critical; the threat of starvation is very real.

UNICEF is on the ground doing what they can but need to raise much more vital life-saving funding. They need your help.

Please donate what you can, any amount is welcome, to help UNICEF to bring aid to those suffering in East Africa.

Copenhagen, July 16th

We are truly devastated to have had to cancel tonight's show in Denmark. This is the first show that we have ever had to cancel in our career as a band. It was a horrible decision to make and one we agonized over.

On Friday night, Rob suffered serious food poisoning from something he had eaten after the show. He was violently ill all night and well into the morning. At 10am this morning, he decided to relocate to his dressing room at the stadium, in the hope that he could recover and prepare for the show. Doctors visited him twice during the day and despite prescribed medication he was still vomiting at 4pm this afternoon. The doctor insisted that he was not fit to perform tonight.

The five of us then had a decision to make: Should we go on with the show without Rob or should we cancel altogether? What would be fairer to our fans? What would people want? It was a very, very difficult decision. In the end we felt that as this tour is about the five of us being back together, and about celebrating that reunion, it would be wrong to go ahead with the show. We also knew that no matter how hard we and our team worked, in the short time we had to make the necessary changes to this hugely complicated and technical production, the show could never be what we wanted it to be, and nor could it be what our fans expect and deserve from us.

We are now back at our hotel and still cannot believe what has happened. Rob is still very unwell, and we are all just focussing on getting him better so we can put on our show in Amsterdam this coming Monday.

We would like to say from the bottom of our hearts that we are truly sorry to all of you who have bought tickets for tonight's show.

People, just to say that if someone is persistent in their derogatory behaviour to the point that they consistently break the forum rules, then it is a possibility that they could receive a ban, as in all these decisions there are procedures that have to be followed.
Comments on the front page can be deleted and we are working towards achieving that, we thank you for your patience, we realise that they are not comments that any one wants to read.
I just want to say that I understand your feelings regarding these people, they and their negativity are not what is needed in here.

Last night saw the German premiere of Disney Pixar's Cars 2 take place at Munich's Mathäser Kino and in attendance were Robbie, two RobbieWilliams.com competition winners and their very lucky friends and a whole host of German celebrities.

In his earlier blog (http://www.robbiewilliams.com/news-blogs/im-going-to-the-premiere-of-cars-2-tonight) Robbie told us that he had "a lot of fun" at the event, stopping along the red carpet to sign autographs and give interviews to the waiting press.

He has gone from what i call baby Robbie the cheeky boy , to good looking cheeky chappie to an extremely Handsome looking man with a cheeky twinkle in his eye . I think Robbie has aged beautifuly and has actually got more handsome . The stunning eyes and the cheeky smile never change . Such a good looking man . Im also loving the styling, suits him , not over done but not scruffy . Realised the term i was looking for is smart casual .

Take That's Progress Live 2011 tour saw the reunited band take to the road as a five-piece for the first time since 1995. Covering UK and Europe the boys played a total of 36 shows across UK and Europe.

Progress Live 2011 is the biggest tour in UK and Irish history with over 1.76 million people having seen the show over the summer. Audiences around the UK have been wowed by a spectacular two and a half hour set which celebrates their biggest hits from the last two decades.

When tickets went on sale in October 2010, a record-breaking 1.34 million tickets were snapped up in less than 24 hours. 850,000 tickets went on sale at 09:00 on 29th October, 2010, and throughout the day the band added a further 11 dates to cope with demand. A whopping grand total of 1.76 million tickets were sold overall!

If you were at one of the shows no doubt these photos will bring some great memories flooding back!

Robbie Williams, the man behind Farrell, (http://www.farrell.com/) will be making a very special appearance at House of Fraser in London's Oxford Street this Thursday, 15th Sep, to celebrate the official launch on Farrell…and you could be meeting him.

The first 200 people to purchase from the Farrell collection on the day will be given a wristband entitling them to attend the event.

The store opens at 08:00 so be sure to set your alarms if you're heading down… Robbie will be appearing at 12:00 midday.

Wouldn't it be much more fun if people would buy the clothes because they like it and can afford it and not only cause that's the only chance to meet him?! I'm sure there will be a lot of people who will buy something just to meet the man. Where's the satisfaction in that?? For Farrell I mean. I know they have to sell the clothes, but for me, the way they're achieving it is just not right. Using his celebrity figure and poor fans who would give the money just to meet him.. Even Farrell stuff are beautiful, but they're QUITE expensive and not everyone can afford it!

I only caught part of it by the time I'd got through ... they did repeat the web chat on veryFarrell.com but I don't think it's on there now ... maybe it will be put on the video section of RW ... might be worth asking a question on the suggestions section of the forum.
