Let me try to recall the reasons why this happened, but please forgive me if I might not get it anymore in full. When we mods yet had all our different boards and not yet all-boards-access, the Arias thread of the Press & TV hasn't yet made sticky.
After that time, when we have gotten the all-board access, the Arias Awards and the Electric Proms gig were the main upcoming live events to be discussed. Many new threads had been opened on these subjects and in order to avoid that and for users to find these thread easier, we have made them both sticky. Others live events are currently following and will surely follow though.
As the Press and TV board hadn't yet these frequent discussions as the live event board threads, it might have been a reason, why the Arias thread there hasn't been made sticky.
The difference in sticky here and unsticky there was not meant as a judgement in their importance at all, so please take my sincere apology for that. I hope my confused seeming reply has answered your question satisfyingly though...
I have now moved the Arias Press posts to here, to make you the thread opener for it, but might copy some informing posts to the Press board as well.

I paid about $120 for my ground floor seating today, confirmed ...... They bumped up the price for the pre-sale by about $30 a pop.
It is to be in set in the round, so stage in the middle with seating all around.
Looking forward to it. Should be great.

KEITH URBAN has been named as a headline act for this year's ARIA awards ceremony.

Organisers hope his wife, Nicole Kidman, will turn up, too.

The pair first attended the music industry awards two years ago when Urban performed with John Butler.

"Keith Urban is breaking from his overseas commitments to come home to Australia," said ARIA Awards event producer Mark Pope. "We all remember the magic of the moment with Keith and John Butler — and this year, with the success of his latest album, Defying Gravity, it gives an opportunity to see him with the full band on stage. It's going to be a hell of a moment."

Kidman's presence is yet to be confirmed but it is understood she is considering attending the awards night to watch her husband's performance.

The awards ceremony will be held in Sydney on November 26. It will be broadcast live by Channel Nine. Jessica Mauboy has seven nominations and Empire of the Sun are close behind with six.

ARIA chairman Ed St John said the artists, including Robbie Williams, would perform on a stage surrounded by the audience.

“We're convinced that this is going to be a really exciting and watchable night of television," he said. "The line-up runs the gamut [from] established superstars such as Robbie Williams and Keith Urban through to relatively new young artists such as Jessica Mauboy."

He said the mix of Australian artists would make it a particularly exciting night.

"I think Empire of the Sun will be sensational and Hilltop Hoods will bring the roof down . . . it's another fantastic year for Australian music."

Tickets for the event will be available to the public. They are due to go on sale on Friday morning through Ticketek.

Just to let you know that if you got your advanced tickets through Preferred Seating, my credit card (which I checked with Citibank to make sure was on the up and up) went through, so looks as if the tickets will be on their way!!!! Yeah!!

Tickets to the 2009 ARIA Awards in Sydney, Australia go on sale this Friday morning, 16 October, at 09:00 Sydney time... so don't have a lie in if you want a piece of the Robbie action!

The man himself will be at the Acer Arena, Sydney Olympic Park, live on Thursday, 26 November to perform his new single, Bodies, during the awards ceremony and you could be too!

Head over to the Ticketek website (http://premier.ticketek.com.au/) from 09:00 Sydney time this Friday, 16 October or call the Ticketek hotline on +61 132 849.

If you miss out on tickets, the forthcoming 2009 ARIA Awards will also be broadcast on Australian television station Channel 9 from 20.30 Sydney time on Thursday, 26 November, followed by a repeat on MTV in Australia one day later at 17.30.

lol ... it wasn't for very long... There was a group of us, maybe six, that went backstage at Telstra Dome before his second Melbourne show. It was the icing on the cake after being front row GA the night before. He spoke about the shows, about cricket, general chit chat. He shook hands with us all and 'introduced himself'. I remember just freezing, thinking OH MY GOD this is Robbie Williams. I remember thinking that he was much taller and thinner than what I thought ... funny the things you think of when you're in such a surreal situation. It was all over in about 10 minutes or so ... I'd do it again in an instant. And yes, I was very, very, very lucky! I went with a girlfriend who loved Robbie, but not a huge fan like I was - that soon changed!

The way I look at is that we are still within spitting distance of the stage, and I am there, so I don't really mind. Worse case, what the 7th or 8th row. That is still pretty good. It is a tad annoying about the tickets now on sale, but I am glad that I am going.

As I have said before, I would stand in the loo if I could hear him sing live.

Ok, I posted this on 'another' site for those pissed of about their tickets...LOL but this is what I think and how I look at it.

There are many different outlets that get GIVEN an allocation of tickets from TICKETEK and they themselves are not in control of where those seats will be. If you read the fine print at Preferred Seating it will tell you they only guarantee you 'A' Reserve tickets NOT necessarily front row. AND if you think about it we are ONLY 8 rows, some are 7 rows and some are only 6 rows from the front! So really we were given what we paid for. And since when is 8 rows from the front bad seats??

Yes, I admit I too am a little pissed off that Ticketek now has these new tickets available, which I guess have been given back to them by one of the outlets which didn't sell their allocation.

BUT...fact remains that in our case, we needed 10 tickets together and Preferred Seating was able to sell us those tickets a week before Ticketek tickets went on sale and yes we paid a higher price for that priviledge but we also got to purchase the amount of tickets we needed without the stress and panic of trying to get these on the day ticketek went on sale.

I have said it before....I tried to get tickets through Ticketek both in their pre-sale as well as general public sale (just for fun of course) and both days I was through by 9.01am and both days they only had single tickets available on the floor area. So in our case, it worked out well cos otherwise we would have had to take seats around the outside! *gasp*

Unfortunately it's the luck of the draw. I mean, who knew they would now have these tickets available? cos they certainly weren't there the other day when I looked! and was anyone really prepaired to wait until now to try and get their tickets? You do what you have to at the time of sale.

I am grateful to have the seats we do and that I get to share this with my RW girls!!! :D

I just hope you can be happy with your allocation and not let this taint a bad vibe over the occasion. :)

Absolutely agreeing with everything you are saying Kizza. I am glad that I am going and that will do me. 7th row I think isn't bad, this is coming from someone who sat last row corner for Pink, so 7th row is just about side of stage I think! That will do me! ;);)

Yeah...like I've said too...I've had my little dummy spit, all ok, its not fantastic but hey thats the way it is and will still have an absolute blast...you never know who you might bump into in the toilets!! lol....I'm going to enjoy my lil holiday in Sydney and meeting lots of peeps from here and there

I bought my tickets at 9am on the dot the day they went on sale (not pre-sale). Got Section A row 4... I wonder why the section D tickets have popped up now on Ticketek?

A friend of mine who worked at ticketek said that the pre-sale tickets are not necessarily better. Visa are just given a pre-allocated amount of tickets - a random selection ... so thats why I decided to try my luck with the general sale... but it appears they've released another lot now on Ticketek.

I just wish I knew what way the performers are going to be facing, or how it's all going to work !!!

For those of you that are disappointed with Row 7, etc - just remember you have the 'catwalk' bits of the stage - you might get a lot closer than what you think! :)

I got my tickets today from preferred seating....yeeaahhh.....section D row 7....i also purchased tickets last nite from ticketek, they were suppose to be for my sister but has decided not to go AGAIN (god knows why!!!) section C row 3. Susie and i have decided we are going to sit in section C so the other tickets will be up for grabs if anyone wants them????

I think where ever we all sit its going to be fab....i look at it this way...i got to see Robbie at Telstra Dome in Melbourne on his last tour and had three rows from the front reserved seating...now that was still a distance away from the stage because you had the mosh pit in front....but the ARIAs is so much closer and not only do we get to see our man up close but the whole show.

i was wondering has anyone got tickets in section B so that we can have the full force field of us surrounding Robbie....:D:D:D:D

im so looking forward to the show and finaly getting to meet everyone....oh and fingers crossed for those Metro tickets....so can't wait for that one....nervous as here :o
