Obviously, I am a fan of RW, my mother heard the latest music from the Electric proms and she is dead impressed as well, one of my aunties is also a long time fan and also my father :)...At the concert in 2006, sitting behind me were a mother, daughter and grandmother, all massive fans and they were so excited to be having a night out with each other..it was lovely to see!

How many generations of fans do you have in your family?

let me count... moment.... damned, miscounted.... ok, starting again... count, count, count.... :) ok, I have it!
It is in words ONE generation here: me, just me :D
(that's, if the then 65 years old lady who I have met & talked to at the Dublin concert back in 2006 doesn't count, of course)

Sadly just me too
although my dad did like the swing album and the kids do like one or two of the old songs.

my mum likes him, i love him (obviously) my daughter loves him and my niece loves him as does her gran on her mums side of the family so i think that makes 3 generations
the next generation of our family will have no choice but to like him , so call it 4 if you want .;)

I know of a 67 year old lady who has everything he has ever recorded and many many photos on her computer..he has mass appeal..cept for my boys, don't think they will ever like him due only to the fact that there is no getting away from the music in this house..I must say, they do know most of the words to the songs! sometimes I catch them singing along:D

My oh pretends not to be a fan , because he is too manly to like robbie . Of course as soon as an album is out he is like " do you want to listen to it" He knows the words to all of the songs When he has a drink and is sentimental the robbie cds are pulled out. He claims Robbie stole his dance moves , and now his style after the icky shoes. I reckon everyone loves abit of robbie , they just dont all want to admit it .;)

you are right his music does appeal to alot of different ages, i reckon everyone has atleast 1 robbie song they love even if they wont admit it .

That's funny. My husband is the same way. The other night we were getting a little tipsy watching videos on youtube and I put on a Robbie video. Then I was telling him how the press was giving him crap about his preformance on xfactor and my husband started defending him. :) He was like, "Robbie Williams is the man. He doesn't have to prove anything to anyone."

Living here in the states though, there isn't a lot of fans. But I definately got my kids (age 7 and9) hooked. I think they look up more Robbie videos on youtube than I do. Everytime I we're in the car, they make me put on a cd.

I was the only one in my entire family and friends who liked Robbie.
But...
Now my best friend is starting to like him a bit and my son loves him now. He watches him on YouTube, he wrote all the words to Bodies down and now knows the son better than me!
And my hubby, well he pretends to not like him but I reckon he does a bit.

Just me, although two of my friends like him, my OH just tolerates it and if Iplay DVD's or any CD's it's usually when he's not home, or at night when he's gone to bed I use earphones.

well it if i´m honest, there is as a fan just me, but my parents and my aunt like him too,

my grandma well she knows him, what not bad for her age, but she says everytime that he looks like somebody from the gutter (very dissapointing)

but i´m going on and try my best to get her on the robbie side, until she is going to met rob´s grandma ...

All of my family are Robbie fans (including the oldies). There are:-

Me (I'm 27)
My sister (29)
My dad (64)
My mother (62)
My nan (88)

My nan loves Robbie.:D After I had played some of his concerts recently, she demanded that I replay them.:):D

My Mum's 72 and she likes Robbie. She came to MK and Knebworth with me. She can run down the front too. :D:D:D

My teenage girls did used to think he was "a geek" :D but they saw him in the flesh on X Factor and have upgraded him to being "pretty good" now - praise indeed :)

My family hasnt cared about him at all but accepted him since 2003.

Now, when I am about to leave his "music+stuff" around my father suddenly was attracted to him last week. He heard his music on radio and told me about it. LOL

He even offered me to tape his shows from tv channel I dont have to.
LOL

Dunno what the generation taste is about but I am about taste only good-great music and good-great voice. Nothing else. When the band or singer loses this - ends up with my ignoration.

Well I am old enough to be Great Grandmother, Grandmother, Mother etc and all of me love Robbie's music, entertaining, wicked sense of humour and even his dancing (who said Robbie can't dance) hubby is not a great fan but loves a lot of his songs and says he puts on a great show when he has seen the DVDs.
The rest of the family don't admit to being a Robbie fan but...................
Sadly I have only ever been to one concert but live in hope of seeing him live again, in fact I refuse to die till I do.
But I am going to the movie theatre to see the Electric Proms, thanks to a lovely friend!

She said she's hanging on for him. :D :D :D

Pitapat, I'm sad you didn't go to see Ronan too, he was excellent. Anyhow I made up for you and went and saw him twice. Ahhh those ballads brought tears to my eyes. He's a funny little act seemed the more layers he peeled off the raunchier his moves got!!!

Oh and just so I don't get accused of being off topic. Definitely generational in my home. My mother wasn't a fan but would happily watch his cds with me. My daughter's went to both his Sydney gigs in 2003 and 2006 with me, hubby loves the swing dvd and even my boys are happy for me to play his music.

I think there are more and more young people who have found Robbie's music through their parents, once they hear his music and see him perform they get hooked too, I think Robbie appeals to all age groups, I think his return to TT has also impacted on this recently, it's a good thing, it's just like passing down a family tradition.

passing down a family tradition :D

its been a while since I started this thread and I can say now that my boys are all VERY familiar with all the songs, the 17 year old 'kinda' likes Kids (new one with Take That).. Kinda..he loves it but could never admit that cause I am....you know....Old n that :p

I was watching the local version of X Factor and most of the performers said that they were influenced by their parents musical choices while growing up...I found that interesting...

Another of my boys is learning the guitar and he wanted the sheet music for Angels...now, to hear my own son play that would make me the happiest gal in the world..He knows I like the song and wants to learn it for me..

see how it works..LOL

I think that RW is well and truly entrenched into peoples houses and minds...and you are right, all ages :D
