Well, of course "Bodies" certainly is not a heart-breaking ballad or anything like that, but still i think that it might be very well qualified as sort of a comeback song for robbie... from what we could hear in that short 1 minute snippet from 07, it sounded very catchy and great, just like Rock DJ in 2000

There was a demo version of Sexed up as a b-side on the "No Regrets" single. A few years before it became a single itself. And it doesn't sound a lot different than the second version. The same with Nan's song. In "Nobody Someday" Rob is seen fiddling around with the lyrics. And when the song finally appeared on Escapology, it didn't sound very different. Some of the lyrics had changed, but the tunes were the same.

The word you mean is "entropy". it actually is a chemical term... in chemistry, it describes how unsystematically certain particles are arranged in a closed system/reaction. it can also indicate how irreversible a chemical reaction is. in everyday speech, you can say that is the chemical term for "chaos" and untidines. i think with the line UK's in entropy robbie wants to say that the whole UK is a huge mess at the moment, but as elaborate and tricky as he is, he simply uses this abstract chemical term to say it...


well, layline is the name of a sailing brand, but i think robbie rather sings about "ley lines". here a definition for "ley line" taken from a dictionary:

ley and ley line noun (leys) a straight line, thought to be the route of a prehistoric road, that joins prominent features of the landscape, most commonly hilltops, and that is supposed to have had some kind of scientific or magical significance in the past.

I'm a bit confused here ;) we have a cover version on a YouTube clip of 'Bodies' which is an unreleased new single from Robbie that was taken from the very short clip on IS several years ago supposedly and Jenny Mackay covering nearly the whole track and all the lyrics. so how did that come about?

so, as I understand it, no due to be released songs should go up on the net before they are released, so why has this one been allowed to stay on YouTube, and not taken down as a couple of YouTubes have today. Didn't Robbie have this track copyrighted or something? I am baffled.

Anyway, it makes no difference after hearing the demo and the cover version because I still don't like the track or the title.

Are you saying that you took the words from IS and made up the rest of the song based around that?

This is not meant rudely or disrespectfully but a) is that legal? and b) I thought last night that was the entire song and I was disappointed by the apparent lack of melody which surprised me from someone like Rob, but if you were building up the song from a 30 second snippet then that would explain it. :)

But I and I suspect many others took that to be the whole song as written by Rob:confused:

And what about the rest of the melody? Does that video not lead listeners to believe that that is the actual meoldy? It's a bit misleading I think.

But anyway it's nice to actually get to discuss it with you because it did strike me as odd as to how you could know the song before it was even released and without being nasty I'm also relieved that that isn't the proper melody because I was disappointed. Thought Robbie had lost his touch.:).

I liked your version, Jenny - but in their defence and all legalities aside - I can totally understand why they would take it down from YouTube.

They've probably invested a load of time and money in the marketing strategy for what is effectively Robbie's comeback single, and your cover wasn't part of that strategy. You did make it totally clear that it was a cover of the old snippet, and the new song might be completely different, but you only have to spend half an hour on this forum to know how things can get twisted and misunderstandings occur...

I wouldn't take it too personally - although I kind of know how you feel - after three years of nothingness, to be biting the hands of the people that have filled the void, so to speak, does seem a bit heavy handed. But I guess rules are rules....

thanks chrissie for your understanding. business is business and I'll try and get things straightened out but i gotta admit - as you said - i am just a bit estranged by how it was handeled. if it really is a matter of marketing, then they could have kindly asked me to remove it instead of accusing me of copyright infringement over youtube -which could have endangered my entire account.

we'll see what happens next but it seems to be pretty disappointing if "fans" are being treated this way.

I still don't like the title of the song Chrissie. and I was mislead by the melody too. I didn't know it was on repeat and reworked around a 15 sec clip when I first listened to it.

I still don't like the title of the song Chrissie. and I was mislead by the melody too. I didn't know it was on repeat and reworked around a 15 sec clip when I first listened to it.

yes, coming in from work and re-reading it again, it was a bit harsh I guess. So Jenny, I am sorry, if I came across that way. And, Jenny, you keep singing, you have a fabulous voice and I wish you all the best if you are thinking of pursuing a singing career.

To be honest, I have my reservations too - I hope he's completely reworked it. For a comeback single, anyway.

Although, again, we just heard a snippet which made it sound a bit odd - maybe, on hearing the full song, reworked of course! LOL! it will fall into context.

Personally I am excited to hear the original as the song seems to have a lot of potential. It's like an empty canvas. So whatever they did with their fairy dust, I'm 100% sure it will be totally different from anything I did. lol

the robbie world has always been a rather hostil place to be, that's why the original chat was closed, the forum was gone and rr closed down. Nothing's changed. People are on an emotional overload around robbie, which then unloads over any individual nearby...virtually.

the robbie world has always been a rather hostil place to be, that's why the original chat was closed, the forum was gone and rr closed down. Nothing's changed. People are on an emotional overload around robbie, which then unloads over any individual nearby...virtually.

You are so right! I'm a mod in a Robbie forum myself, and that's pretty tough sometimes.
And the emotional overload or whatever was worst during the tour. I've never experienced that much backstabbing, hypocrisy, dishonesty and ******** in my whole life. :rolleyes:

Yeah i agree, moderation is really tricky one, cos in one hand ppl r in a forum cos they want to show their ideas with freedom :)

But in other hand sometimes some ppl make some confusion and cant respect others and they even start offending them....

So wot can we do to avoid that?

Well I definitely wish I hadn't heard it because I didn't really like it. At the time it was of no consequence but now it's going to be his lead single it matters to me a bit more.:confused:

I'm hoping that Rob's comments about TH and his fairy dust mean that the finished product will be quite different from the unpolished snippet I heard and that gives me reason for optimism.:)

well, layline is the name of a sailing brand, but i think robbie rather sings about "ley lines". here a definition for "ley line" taken from a dictionary:

Once we made a birthday video with a song of 50cent and while uploading YT gave as error that it couldn't be uploaded coz of copyright.. :rolleyes: weird, coz in that case you can only use your own music.. right? Every artist/song has copyright and I think that they should be honoured that we use their music for a video..
