Chart Highlights:

Als Robbies "Partyhymne" beschrieben, kletterte 'Let Me Entertain You' im Frühjahr 1998 während des 'Angels'-Folgewirbelwinds auf Nr.3. Der Song wurde sein unverkennbarer Konzerteröffnungssong.
Inspiriert durch den Rolling Stones Film 'Rock 'n' Roll Circus' sagte Robbie: "Wir guckten 'Rock Circus' und nahmen danach 'Let Me Entertain You' auf. Als wir begannen das Demo zu schreiben, war dem Ganzen ein wilder Dschungelrhythmus unterlegt. Es war so heftig, dass es mich total begeisterte und ich bin immer noch begeistert, wenn ich es mir anhöre. Es ist nicht wirklich Heavy Metal, es ist mehr 'Camp Rock Oper'!"

Chart Höhepunkte:
Ungeachtet dessen, dass es den Spitzenplatz verpasste, war 'Let Me Entertain You' ein großer Hit in Großbritannien, mit der Höchstplatzierung Nr.3 und im März 1998 für 1 Monat in den Top 10 verbleibend.

Nach dem Erfolg von 'Angels' wurde Robbie als nationale Musikikone umarmt. Seine festgefügte und erfolgreiche Partnerschaft mit Guy Chambers fortführend, wurde 'I've Been Expecting You" im späten 1998 veröffentlicht.
Das Album wurde hauptsächlich während eines gemütlichen "Luxus-Schreib-Urlaubs" (wie Guy es nannte!) auf Jamaika geschrieben.
Es war außerdem während Robbies Beziehung zu All Saints Sängerin Nicole Appleton – das Album zeigte eine Mischung verschiedener Einflüsse, nämlich derer, die ihm nahe standen.
Für sein Fanmagazin schreibend, sagte Robbie: "Die meisten der Songs, die ich schrieb, sind sehr persönlich, besonders 'These Dreams', das wie ein weiteres 'Angels' ist. Es brachte mich sogar zum Weinen, als ich es schrieb."
Das Album zementierte Robbies Status als Popkönig, den Respekt von Fachleuten und Kritikern gleichermaßen erreichend.
Nachdem er den Sommer damit zubrachte, die Massen auf Festivals zu begeistern, nahmen die Menschen nun die bloße Karft seines Talents wahr. Zusammen mit dem 'London Session Orchestra', waren 'Pet Shop Boys'-Mitglied Neil Tennant und 'The Divine'-Mitglied Neil Hannon beide auf dem Album vertreten, als Background-Stimmen für 'No Regrets'.
"Ich erhielt einen Anruf, fragend, ob ich herkommen wolle?", sagte Neil Hannon. "Und ihm als Kultikone abzusagen, erschien mir ungehobelt."
Andere Schlüsseltitel des Albums waren 'Millennium' – das im September 1998 Robbies erste lang ersehnte Nr. 1 wurde – 'She's The One' und 'Strong'.
In der Band waren der musikalische Leiter Guy Chambers am Keyboard und an der Gitarre, Gary Nuttal und Alex Dickson an Giatteren, Chris Sharrock am Schlagzeug, Fil Eisler am Bass und Claire Worral ebenfalls am Keyboard und an der Gitarre.

Chart Höhepunkte:
Höchste Britische Chart Position: Nr. 1
'I've Been Expecting You' schoss bei Veröffentlichung geradewegs auf die Nr. 1. Bei mehr als 2,5 Millionen verkauften Exemplaren alleine in Großbritannien und Irland, setzte es ebenso ein Zeichen in den Europäischen und Lateinamerikanischen Charts.

Die dritte Auskopplung aus Robbies zweitem Album, 'Strong', erschien zu einer geschäftigen Zeit. Geschrieben in einem Hotel in Köln, war der Song beeinflußt von Robbies eher wahnsinnigeren Bewunderern, die - wie er zugab - ihn zu Tode ängstigten. Bei Horden von campenden Fans vor seinen Hotels beinhaltete 'Strong' eine autobiografische Botschaft. "Ich wollte ihnen nur verständlich machen, dass ich nicht unhöflich bin, aber ein wenig beängstigt von alldem bin", sagte er.

Chart Höhepunkte:
Eine Woche in den Britischen Charts verbleibend, erreichte 'Strong' im März 1999 die Höchstposition Nr.3.

Robbies erste Doppel-A-Seite 'No Regrets' stieß die Veröffentlichung von 'I've Been Expecting You', mit Adam Ants Ant Music an seiner Seite, an.
Robbie schrieb den Song als ein reinigendes Selbstzeugnis seiner vergangenen Erfahrungen. Bei zunehmendem Beifall wurde es zu einem der meist diskutiertesten Lieder des Albums, möglicherweise wegen des Bezugs zu seinen Take That Tagen.
Als er zuvor bereits mit 'The Pet Shop Boys'-Sänger Neil Tennant an einem Wohltätigkeitsprojekt zusammen gearbeitet hatte, hatte er diesen zusammen mit Neil Hannon von 'The Divine Comedy's' eingeladen, in dem Song mitzusingen.

Chart Highlights:
In Österreich erreichte 'No Regrets' die Top 40 und verblieb im Dezember '98 eine Woche lang in den Britischen Top 10.
