Default "Radio Rudebox"

Robbie mentioned Radio Rudebox. What is it about? A radio station perhaps as the title suggests or is it something completely different? A new phone app? A game? Out takes?

What do you think it means?

My first thought was, that it could be like a radio station, where Rob sometimes plays some of his favourite music for us, tells us funny stories etc. Maybe a bit like the "Robcasts" he did back in 2008.... But it could easily be something else... oooooh, this is so exciting!

I also at first thought about his own radio station...maybe in LA region?

The second though is the name of DJ company...

The name of show?...

It's very hard to understand what he meant =)

I really have no clue what on earth could it be?! lol He gave just a hint, not enough infos to come up with something that actually makes sense. But your theory @Solveig is an interesting one! I've never thought of that, the first thing that came to my mind was actually a radio station or something, like many of you have already said! Gosh, I'm so curious right now!!

Robbie likes to make us wait ... and the result is always great !!!!!

I'd like to know what it's all about (well, who wouldn't )...also thought of a radio station first but can't really believe that...he would not have the time to set up a whole radio station...and what would that be all about...it's mysterious. It might have nothing to do with a "radio"-thing at all...maybe it's just a working title for...whatever
Oh well, I hope he won't leave us wracking our brains too long...I'm just so nosy!

Whatever it is, I am MORE than surprised that Robbie and his PR team decided to use the name "Rudebox" for their new brand. No matter whether it's a radio station, a DJ company or whatever, I just don't see why they would use a name that, in the public opinion, will forever and always be connected with "Robbie's big flop". This is the way the public - not necessarily his fans (!) - thinks about Rudebox, largely due to the negative press coverage it got. "Oh Rudebox, wasn't that this flop album that Robbie Williams produced? The one where he tried to be a rapper? Bet he was on drugs at that time, I read it in 'The Sun' that he was obsessed wit UFOs, too...!". This, whether you like it or not, is more or less what comes to most peoples minds when they hear "Rudebox".
That's why, when it comes to marketing and promotion, I see no reason for Rob's management to re-use that name. In my opinion, they should play along, basically by saying "well it was an experiment, it didn't work out, let's forget it". Coming up with a "Rudebox"-connected project - even if it's only the name - is such a big mistake to me. It's like basically forcing it on the people, saying "come on folks, give it another try, it wasn't that bad at all". While this is certainly true, many 'casual' who were kinda put off when they heard the album Rudebox won't even give this "Radio Rudebox" project a try, simply because of its name. So eventually, putting "Rudebox" in there will scare certain people away and thus reduce the impact and commercial success of this project, no matter what it is.

Maybe, no probably, I'm a bit over-the-top here and actually it's not that dramatic at all. But right now, I'm more than curious to find out what this is going to be and whether there's any real reason for that name...!
