Just my opinion as someone who hasn't played a single hand of poker.

One of the characteristics that Rob/Robbie appears to have is that he can connect really well with people of all ages and all walks of life - it's what makes him such a brilliant live performer - even those right at the back feel included and needed.

The downside to that IMO is that you can be made to feel more "important" to him than is actually the case and this can lead to disappointment. One of the main reasons IMO that fans wanted to play poker is to be on the same table as Robbie and be able to "talk" to him or watch the conversations. I think if any of us denied that we're quite frankly deceiving ourselves. But what is the reason Robbie/Rob is playing? It can't be the same one because if Robbie wanted to chat to his fans then there is a forum here that he could quite easily visit and chat. I believe someone stated from poker that Robbie said he never reads the forum LOL so presumably the reason he goes on line is because by his own admission he's very competitive, he likes to win, he's good at poker and presumably the site is a business venture that he wants to encourage participation. This is what some posters were trying to explain on the blog when this all first started but were drowned out as being negative by "The March Of The Friendlies"

He's in all probability set out what he wanted to achieve in that the site is up and running. Now he can take a back seat and get on with other (far more important) things. But the problem is, that for every fan who has gotten to "chat" with Rob/Robbie there are loads who are disappointed or feel a bit let down which was kind of inevitable.

My strategy for never being disappointed in RW which has served me well over the years LOL is to remember that he is a lovely, lovely, very talented, very gifted man with a heart of gold but - his view on what he's giving and ours on what we're getting may differ greatly, he changes his mind like the wind, don't expect too much, just what he can give and that he will move onto his next venture very quickly without a moments notice.

I always keep that in mind and that way have been able to enjoy everything he gives without ever feeling frustrated or disappointed. But like I say it's just my opinion.

Brilliant post Laura

I have to admit, I only joined when Rob starting playing in the hope of playing against him. I've sat at his table for all of 1 min, at the most.
Now I play because I'm hooked. I'll never play at his table or the sit&go with him because I'll never have that many chips.

Hi everyone!!

The truth is that the game has always been one of my favorites from my time in high school and now Rob hooked me again
I have one small complaint, whenever you do any tournament, there are one or more "ghosts", because there is a way for the chips are removed or alternatively, block them? I understand that some are so because at that time arenīt (to me personally when I forgot but resume as soon as I noticed) but the vast majority arenīt, the chips would be good to share among those who really want to play

I met Rob at a table (when he still was poor) and was the greatest moment of my life, it's great that you take so much trouble, though, is a player, we can all agree at some point, so for people who not sure they can match, you can always, as I say, dreams are to do them, but remain just that, mere dreams

Have a nice day Folks

Sus (Chatty_Boss) xoxo

Hi everyone I would just like to add my experience on Fun Poker.... I had never played poker before in my life. Don't know why, I guess it always looked a bit complicated, I thought I would most likely never get the hang of it and so never tried. Robbies Fun Poker came along and I signed up the hubby as he has played before in the hope he could win me some merchandise. As it turns out he's a bit crap really!! then Rob said he was playing and not wanting to miss out I signed myself up, hubby told me a few of the basics and .... wow what a game it is. I cannot tell you how much I love this game, whoever invented it give them a lollipop (lol) its fab and right up my street but more than that I feel I have really acheived something by learning this game and getting the hang of it. I've played Rob on quite a few occasions and have had a laugh with him which is a bonus, he has taken a million off me and last night I won it back. I am proud to say than I have surpassed my own expections!! I can kind of understand why Rob likes the higher tables, you lose big but you also win big and when you do it is such a buzz I would personally like to thank Rob for introducing me to this game that I would otherwise have never learned and best of all .... beating the hubby by a mile!!! Yeeeeah baby in your face lol I will continue to play even if Rob is off doing other things as I am now hooked and have made lots of lovely, really funny friends. See you at the tables peeps xx

Laura i agree with almost all you say. What i was origionally meaning was that even though i have a couple of million chips i am not usually one of the players that sits at Robs table and am not in the usual crowd that play him, as other players who know me will already know. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and luckily played against him. We were all given the same opportunity when this started some friendlies have got to the top of the leader board and have played against him lots, some just a few times and other haven't played him at all. Even if a friendlie doesn't want to play they can still watch. We should all just enjoy whatever we can get out of this as it could all be gone tomorrow as you say whenever Rob decides he's had enough he will be gone.
I don't understand where the problems have come from, last summer when Rob was bloging every few days we were so happy for any friendlie who got a reply to a question and then rudebox when he spoke to us and answered questions again we were happy for the friendlie's mentioned. The personel meetings a few very lucky friendlies had at the House of Frazer brilliant opportunity. But somehow with poker is has become different. I am still very happy for anyone who gets to play or sit with him and know he probably wont even remember who i am and certainly don't feel i have become even the tiniest bit important to him. He does make everyone feel special and that is why we all love him so much in the first place. My origional post was not to bragg or show off but to let others know it isn't just the same few people who he plays.and to be honest i was buzzing at the time. By the way i have played zynga poker for a couple of years so i did play before this site was set up but with the added attraction of Rob and the chat with the others i now prefer it here. Hope this has not upset anyone as it is not my intention

Red face

Hi all, I just wanted to peak in and say hi. My name here is the same as in the game. I understand some people's frustrations expressed here, but there are some things to consider.
1. the real money option is just an option for those whose skills are less than stellar to get their chip count up to where they can play at any table.
2. there are still many ways to get free chips daily via the log in bonus and the feedback bonus, plus the free roller and high roller tournaments with no buy in amount required.
3. there are most likely very good reasons that rob pops in and out of games the way he does that most have not considered because they are not in his shoes. I think it is pretty obvious he is not an elitist type of person.
4. HAVE FUN! that's what its all about after all

5. I agree that the tech support are not taking extremely abusive behavior seriously. This is my only criticism. We need to have the abilty to not only report abuse but also block or ignore that person.

Finally.. I have been playing poker for many years now and I really enjoy the site he has put together and have made some lovely friends with the people I have had the opportunity to get to know through it. So thanks for doing this Rob.

No I knew you weren't Karen and I didn't take it that way. My post was more in response to possible feelings of disappointment that I've read over the last couple of weeks, that's all.
