It was a great day/night. We splashed out on a flash hotel in Glasgow, had a fab couple of hours in the boozer round the corner from Hampben before the concert and then partied on inside!
THE ONE WITH THE ROBBIE BLIMP
i remember waking up opening my blinds and there infront of my window was A RW BLIMP, squealed with excitement coz for years i had traveled to see robbie and it felt like he was coming to see me now, right at my door step AMAZING FEELING . Wonderfull memories of swaying and boucing in the crowd near the front with all my friends. Let me entertain you was outta this world. x
BRILLIANT SHOW!!!!!
Me my mum and my cousin were at milton keynes a couple of weeks before glasgow and he was amazing but he wasn't too well and missed a couple of songs, still brilliant tho. Then we decided to go to glasgow, no tickets and no hotel booked, we jumped on a plane and that was that. We spent the whole day and most of the night tryin to find a hotel, they were all full, then we found a tiny posh place down a little back street (we were on our way to sleep in the park havin given up hope). We had one room for the three of us and we had a right giggle.
The next day we spent ages tryin to find tickets. We got in just before ABC came on and pushed our way to the front. Was the most amazing show ever, he had the audience in the palm of his hand as always.
Was the best weekend of my life and will never be forgotten!!!!!
Got searched on the way in because I had a ominous long white jacket on the theory being I'd be more visible with white on! There was space at the front left of the stage. Did the lets be cool but Im getting in there walkrun to the space. Got comfy ie took my jacket off met a couple of nice girls. Plucked up the courage and asked one of the security team if he could pass my writing stuff on to Robbie. (still wonders if he ever got it or what happened to it hmmm) Toploader was the warm up act. Loved it was really into achillies heel by toploader at the time I dont think they played it though. Rob finally appeared and shouted are you ready to be entertained or something similar my mind and mouth went to shout YES along with everyone else but NO came out What the Hell?!! Anyway Rob was great he only came over to that side of the stage a couple of times but it was great to see him so close. I cant remember if they took a photo of the crowd or if it was just when he was over that side but I smiled the biggest smile eva. I wanted it to go on and on and on :) but of course he's only human not a scotch tape!!(anyone remenber the ad for scotch tapes with the skeletons) (btw has anyone got a recording of this concert?) So I went and bought a RW number 8 t-shirt and a programme. Caught my lift just as I went outside (Good Timing and Luck) and went for my first kebab which wasnt my last :) ps A MASSIVE thanks to my friend Craig who got me the ticket.
This was a great concert and Rob was on top form! ABC and Toploader warmed up the crowd nicely before Mr. Williams came to the stage! I can't believe this was 10 years ago - oh how time flies when you're having fun doesn't it?! x
First live Robbie gig i ever saw...i was in tears at Better man as it was my fav song at the time......Loved it man..still one of the best gigs i have been at.
