Hi Rob. 3 blogs in 15 days. You write more often and as I answer more often. I think I become as a teenager: a Rob's blog and I answer a comment. I realize that all friendlies are not fans, it's a community gathered around you. With blogs we can talk and answer, from one end of the world to another, and that's fantastic. @ Symmone, it's thru, we're looking in the same direction : U Before I visited the site about once a week, now it's every day. @Silke....Absolutely BRILLIANT! "100 Masterpieces by Robbie Williams" is a great idea. Certainly, "Me and My Monkey" is a dramatic piece of story telling. Of course, when looking deeper the man and the monkey are, of course, ONE! This is what makes the story even that much more compelling. That Rob has this insight into himself is what makes him a great lyricist and story teller. I've often thought he should write a musical. ARE YOU READING THIS, ROB? I know it's been something on your plate for a looooong time! It would be a SMASH! ~Let's see....How 'bout a working class boy who dreams of being on stage ends up at the tender age of 16 in the most popular boy band ever with screaming girls all over the world...becoming a teenage millionaire. However, Boy can't handle all that it encompasses...starts on the road of drink and drugs...leaves boy band...unsure of where the road will lead. God, I miss my dog Basse :( Anyway, I loved the fact that you made a session in your last Radio Rudebox where you answered questions from friendlies. If you make a new Radio Rudebox with a session like that, then I have a question for you (big surprise ;). I was just wondering if you had any idea of how your life would have turned out, if it weren't for Take That and your solo career?? Also, I’ve noticed that you play a lot of different genres in Radio Rudebox, so I would like to suggest Tina Dickow (or Dico, which is her international name). She is an amazing Danish singer songwriter and her lyrics about life are very poetic. 100 masterpieces by Robbie Williams “Me and my monkey” – revisited ~ The artist calls this his “story-song”, I’d like to think of it more as a sung road movie in written Technicolor, a drama that unfolds before our very ears. Knowing that Robbie Williams has been off the drugs and alcohol for a very long time when he wrote this magnum opus, it is even more impressing and astounding that this story sprang from a sober head! ~ In the story about a man and a monkey on a trip to Las Vegas it soon becomes clear that the monkey is not a periphrasis for an intellectually challenged travel companion but a real furry one, funnily enough clad in human clothes – and equipped with a strong will. While this might put a smile on people’s faces the story develops with unexpected twists and turns. ~ The odd couple ends up at a well known hotel in Vegas, a city where money can buy anything, even a hotbed of sin for a man and a monkey. Disconcertingly, the monkey carries a gun and knows how to operate it…. Scary thought. ~ After a quick nap the protagonists get up to organize their evening. While the human part enjoys the view over the sights, the monkey has more serious business in mind and makes sure that all his elementary needs are being taken care of. Narcotics and female primate company are ordered to the room. ~ Gladly we are being spared any hairy details as well as any engagement of the human traveling partner being involved in the activities. We learn that the monkey procuress gets help just in time because obviously the monkey had od-ed on monkey speed and monkey sex. An image very hard to get rid of! ~ The evening proceeds with a concert and some useless gambling when the travelers notice they are being observed by a certain Mexican senor Rodriguez ... ~ Will lifes be taken? Does the monkey’s trip ever end? What does it do with your sanity when you travel to Vegas with an armed, drugged and sexed up monkey?
