Controversy In The Super Metro League
So LA Vale ended up finishing the Super Metro League undefeated BUT still may lose the league. Two weeks ago the Vale registered one player BEFORE a game - a friend of the Vale, Joey Awong. He was registered before the game and not used in a 'cheating' way. Unfortunately, because of fax problems and documentation, the registration didn't go through before the game.
The league has decided to adopt a maximum penalty of 4 deducted points AND a loss for the game which Vale won 2-1. This is a hugely harsh penalty for the players and the team that has fought hard all season and played fair. This was not done to strengthen the squad as Joey has only actually been playing soccer for 2 years! It was all a complete mis-understanding.
Sooo... LA Vale may go through the whole Super Metro League unbeaten and still not win the league! The league said they may review it at the end of the season. Lets hope justice prevails for the sake of the team.
Thanks from the chairman and all the players for your continued enthusiastic support. You've all helped make this one of the most memorable football experiences of our lives!! In our hearts, whatever happens, we know that we are champions :-)
