01 Oct 2005 - London, England: Astoria
"I want to thank you for being part of this moment," said Robbie following his spine-tingling performing of Angels. This was his only performance in the UK ahead of the launch of new album Intensive Care at the Berlin Velodrom, so demand was understandably sky-high for tickets.
Excited fans queued around the block in the rain throughout the night for the intimate and exclusive live show amd strict security measures at London's Astoria, which has since closed down, ensured that the tickets fell into the right hands - to real fans, not touts.
Live Review
"After the large-scale production of Knebworth two years ago it was an amazing experience to see Robbie in such an intimate venue. He seemed really relaxed and had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand with plenty of his trademark cheeky banter between songs. The new material sounded very promising, and Tripping was received as if it was an old classic. But, as ever, Angels was the real showstopper." Read the full review on the BBC website.
