05 Oct 2005 - Amsterdam, The Netherlands: Paradiso

Date:
5 October 2005
Capacity:
1500
Venue:
Paradiso
City:
Amsterdam
Country:
The Netherlands

The final one-off show before his Berlin bonanza at the Velodrom, Robbie and his team arrived at a packed-out Paradiso in Amsterdam in true Dutch style; sneaking down through the city on a canalboat and into the venue via the side entrance!

Robbie duly did his thing on stage, entertaining the ever-energetic Dutch crowd with a string of hits from his then new album, Intensive Care, including Ghosts, Sin Sin Sin, Tripping, A Place To Crash and Advertising Space.

He then coolly hopped off stage and onto an awaiting boat again to disappear down the winding Dutch canals and off into the night - how fantastic!

Next stop, Berlin...

I was one of the lucky fans

I was one of the lucky fans who was allowed to be at the interview at Paul's Parenavond at October 4th. I left my work to go there and my telephone rang. I couldn't believe it! I also won a ticket for the Paradiso gig. In the letter I received was written that I had to get my tickets at the Melkweg building. You were only allowed to attend Paradiso with a blue and yellow tag on your wrists. Finally everybody was allowed to enter the building. Paradiso is a very small area for a concert! I think it was maximum 1.500 people. It took a while before Robbie entered and I was looking around the area. Above me, at the balcony, there were a lot of famous Dutch people. Why them? Why not the real fans? Robbie entered the stage. He was wearing the same outfit as the night before at Paul de Leeuw interview; a dark red coat, black t-shirt and jeans. Robbie started with a new song "Ghosts" and after that it was "Feel". All people started dancing and singing after that. Robbie was impressed, everybody knew the exact lyrics of Feel. He turned the microphone to the audience and enjoyed the crowd singing. Then he sang "A Place To Crash". After that he started I Will Survive and ended with Supreme. Rob has a board with the lyrics in front of him and he turned it around and pointed with his finger to the correct lyric line, so that everybody could karaoke. Funny! There was a girl (Anja) who was waving continuously with a marker and a photo. After Rob finished his song, he said something like "There's a lady up there with a pen and a poster. Don't you understand I can't reach you? She's nuts! But allright, I will please her, give it over here". Rob signed the photo and let security bring it back to her. When Rob sang Sin Sin Sin, Claire left her piano and started playing guitar. Then Rob sang my favourite song: "No Regrets". Funnily enough he started singing the wrong part, but he corrected himself quickly. I phoned my Romanian friend so she could listen to Rob too. Just when I hang up, he got a phone from another girl and talked to the person on the other side. Too bad it wasn't my phone! At the end Rob recored "make me pure" live at a cassette disk and gave the cassette to a guy who was standing in the audience. It was the best concert I've ever seen! Tracklist: 01. Ghosts 02. Feel 03. A Place To Crash 04. I Will Survive + Supreme 05. The Trouble With Me 06. Advertising Space 07. Millennium 08. Come Undone 09. Sin Sin Sin 10. Trippin' 11. No Regrets 12. Relax Don't Do It + Rock DJ 13. Make Me Pure

It made my wedding

It made my wedding anniversary!! I won tickets via the Robbiewilliams.com website (tks Jamie!) and found out on 4 Oct my wedding anniversary - it meant my husband didn't have to think of anything to do - my evening was spent me, my husband and Robbie (of course the hundreds of others there). It was a lovely gig and felt very personal. Best Robbie gig I've been too.

Just can't refuse to add myself to the list.. All you need to do right now is add (the full :D) video material from the archive on here, so that the memories will be even more vivid.. Oldfashioned Grins.
