Sharlene's part 2 18th

Sharlene's part 2 18th December Melbourne ’It’s a bit longer than last time, have a coffee on me Wow still on a high from last night, Robbie was amazing. Brittney had an appointment at the paediatrician at 10.00am at least that gave me a bit of a sleep in, as we did not get into be until 2.00am. No probs, I dropped Brittney off at school and catch the last two hours of the excursion with work. Everybody at work awaiting my comments and thoughts on Robbie’s, and yes they get them with excitement and enthusiasm. There probably thinking they shouldn’t of asked. Oh well. The time sneaks on and once again the magic hour of 4.30pm arrives. Oh, our first problem, one of us has come away from home without our ticket. Home is an hour away; thank goodness we had not left for Melbourne as yet. Not mentioning any names because I’d hate to embarrass her, g****-UP goes back to Winchelsea to search out her ticket. Sue and I met her in Geelong at 6.00pm, were we all jump in the one car and begin our journey. Lots of Robbie Jokes and excited chatter all the way up the highway. 15 minutes from the Telstra Dome, OMG traffic jam, by this times its 7.30 and its snail pace. Sue beginning to panic, we going to be late, we are going to miss the start. I regularly reassured her that our boy wasn’t coming on till about 8.45, and it would be okay. Finally at about 8.00pm we find our car park for the night, hot tail it off to Telstra, to be amongst the thousand coming over the walkway. What a sight missed all this last night. It looked amazing every body buzzing with excitement, buy ourselves a couple of Robbie programs and off to put on the fed bag. It’s now 8.30pm, fed and watered, ate it that fast not to sure what it was, but well enjoyed. Ticket through the machine, yeah we are in. walk up to the correct gate, came across our first venue laugh of many to come. “Excuse me ladies could you please take your tops off”. Settle giddy-up he means for drink bottle ha-ha., I wonder if any body actually surprised him with a different response. Okay were in our seats and discussing with the row behind for permission to stand. Permission granted with much enthusiasium .I hand out a bunch of fluoro sticks these were taken with much excitement, with instruction on hand, WE ST AND WAIT. Fire works, this is not a drill, yeah I’m in the right place this time, the countdown. I look over at Sue and she can’t control her leg from shaking, she is so excited. I told her to what for Advertising space and then she could get into the Elvis groove. OMG up he has popped and we have a better view than last night, The bunch behind are so excited they are hitting me on the head with their fluoro sticks, not quite what I had in mind, but hey there having fun. I’m enjoying tonight even more than last night because I know I am here and it is Robbie out there, sometimes the first concert can be a little overwhelming because you’ve waited so long, the second is a huge celebration party. Can’t imagine how he feels going on for the beginning of a tour, very nerve racking I suppose. Any way the crowd are nuts yelling, singing and we give him such a buzz, he is really having a great time out there. Jonny comes one and they have a great chat and tonight I’m in the section that starts off the Aussie wave, how awesome did that look. They do their stuff and its great to see two mates show affection openly, more of these should happen! Robbie souvenuirs a teddy from an admirer and takes it with appreciation. Josie appears to help him to put on his jacket; I want her job, NOW. After Advertising space he creates attention towards a fan on the phone. He takes the phone and chats to the girl on the other end, what a hoot, the crowd go nuts. Bet that phone never gets a wipe again. We are all up singing, clapping, swaying, so much enjoyment and he is really embracing the whole night. Celebration of a job well done of a very long busy tour. Let me entertain you is fantastic, the pod malfunctions, but to the knowledge of lots of first timers, he still does the song justice. It’s all now coming to an end yet again, a promise he will be back and more albums on the way. He leaves the main stage after a big goodnight and merry Christmas. We are at the corner of the stage looking down so we can see more. Just as he disappears from the man view I see him lift two arms in the air and a mouthed YEAH is seen, that is still a vivid image in my memory. The man had a good time and now he can go home. Right off to the channel 7 sign we go, feel like 3 salmon swimming up stream, ah we made it. There’s the gorgeous Kizza, whom I met last night and her lovely friend who is now a newly transformed Robbie fan. Here comes JMH, very emotional after seeing the last concert of her Robbie de Tour and very delighted with the conversation that her and Robbie had during the concert. Well deserved I say. The banner has come full circle and has been noticed by the man himself many times over. The achievement of it being on inner sanctum goes to Our Aussiemum. Three cheers for aussie, the sisterhood and Pure Robbie and of course Robbie. Have had a blast over this whole tour, been in a bit of trouble with the family for being on the computer so much and suffering from Robbie Mentionitus. You know, life’s like that and when all is forgotton, and it has been, I have the best memories. Thanks so much you guys Thankyou Mr Robert Peter Williams Member rating There are no ratings to display Published by sharlene 1965

Brilliant concert, as a Brit

Brilliant concert, as a Brit down under, enjoying the country and now Robbie, I had the time and holiday of my life, I flew from Sydney where I saw his concert at the Aussie Stadium, which was also a brilliant, to Melbourne, but this last appearance held a special significance. It was his last gig of a lengthy tour, he was to walk off stage and away from this tour for what we know now for a looong break. The show was, as always was terrific, he was funny and up for entertaining. The Telstra Dome is huge, and he broke attendance records for both of his shows there, it was amazing, and the Aussie's love him. At the end of a non stop performance, he just stood on the podium before leaving it all behind, and I took one hell of a photo of him in all his gorgeousness. It is a significant photo, I was lucky enough to be front row in the inner circle, so it was taken as close as you could possibly be without being up there with him. .its a lovely shot, a smiling Robbie, arms in the air, sweaty and hot...and a photo that has never ever been put up on the world wide web. I have seen Robbie many times over the years, he is truely an entertainer par excellance and never fails to deliver, and I hope he does return to the stage where he belongs soon. The performance at the Melbourne Telstra Dome remains a memory I can see right now, as I write. I see him taking the cheers and the applause, turning away and walking off, and leaving us, his fans, with a vision of this exit, and wondering when he will come back and entertain us again. If only you could reach out to hold onto these moments and him, it was this occassion and how I wished I could. I didn't want him to go.
