Europe/Australia: Cock of Justice/Aussie Typo Tour (2003)

After the huge climax of Knebworth, Robbie took to the road to complete the final leg of his Weekends of Mass Distraction tour. The autumn leg was accidentally billed ‘Weekends of Mass Destruction' - hence the internal tour name - and support was provided by ‘80s pop legends Duran Duran.

A mentally unprepared Robbie found his first gigs a strain. He explained to biographer Chris Heath: "It was a bit like I'd literally been, say, flicking through the TV channels watching what was on the television, and then all of a sudden somebody had just plopped me on top of the stage with the cane and a nice new suit and a big haircut, and I was just about to do two hours."

Resisting the urge to walk off stage on the first night, he convinced himself to stay, but consequently cancelled his forthcoming tour of South America and South Africa.

Although disillusioned and in fear of another burn out, he played some phenomenal gigs to some of the biggest crowds of his career.
