No.1 Album Progress Has Biggest First Week Sales This Century!
Take That's latest album Progress shot to the No.1 spot in the UK album charts this weekend and it wouldn't have got there without you all - a massive thank you for buying it and helping Robbie and the boys achieve this monumental success.
Progress, which saw the highest first week sales in 13 years, the biggest opening week for an album in Britain since Oasis' Be Here Now, sold just under a staggering 520,000 copies making it the fastest-selling album of the millennium. This phenomenal figure also means it has sold more copies than the rest of all the albums in the Top 10 added together… wow!
The huge excitement surrounding one of the biggest reunions in pop and one of the most anticipated albums in years meant that 45% of the final album sales took place on the day of release… that's 235,000 of you who couldn't wait to get your hands on the album!
If you've not bought Progress yet click here to pick it up now and check out why it's been such a huge success.
Progress tops the 10 fastest-selling albums of the century:
1. Progress - Take That (2010)
2. X&Y - Coldplay (2005)
3. The Circus - Take That (2008)
4. I Dreamed A Dream - Susan Boyle (2009)
5. Life For Rent - Dido (2003)

Well done Take That a fourth week at number One.I am not surprised as it is a superb album from start to finish. All the songs are catchy and lovely lyrics I keep singing them at home and in the car driving my family demented with my singing.!! Ho!! Ho!!I love my progress box set too a lovely early xmas prezzie.Lots of Happiness to you and your families have a great Christmas and a great 2011.The tour can not come soon enough !!! Good luck with the rehearsals. You all work so hard to make great music and brilliant live shows. We love you all.Heres to Progress making number one in the Christmas week.Have a very Happy Christmas Take That and have a great one with all your friends and families.
'Progress' really is a good album. How is it going in Australia - I have to admit it has to compete with 'Michael' by MJ and his estate minders.
♥♥♥ I LOVE PROGRESS!!!.. ♥♥♥ YEAH!.. ☺☻ IT'S A GREAT ALBUM.. ☺♫☻☺♫☻☺♫☻ CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!.. ;)
I´m very disappointed, Progress is total shit, I can´t stand listening to the album. Apart from The Flood the songs are really bad. What did you do to your voices? It´s awful! I like the 3rd CD of In and out of consciousness much better, a consolation. I hope Robbie will make another solo album soon!
♥♥♥ ROBBIE WE LOVE YOUUU!!!.. ♥♥♥
My favs are pretty Things, wait, what do you want from me. These Love Songs are Talking to me. Nice to hear some real and modern, the now, lyrics. I still wanna have Sex with you was a shock to hear, but right on, Thats how the modern mind thinks. I Pump up SOS in the Car and Pardon me if i pretend to Be in my own private Nightclub Dancing. My 2 Little Boys Love it too.
I think the cd is great! I like the song the Flood very much. I look forward to see Take That in Amsterdam! greetings from Holland
Congratulations Robbie and the other boys from Take That!! Your Album "Progress" is in Germany No. one, too. Wunderful! I love it too.Very very nice are the Songs " The Flood" and the "Flowerbed" Well done! I'm glad to see you next year in Munich live!! In love Alexandra
HI XAN !!!I love The Flood...I´m listening it right now ...I watch on you tube all the versions they ´ve been performing .... one after the other -But this is the only song I like and maybe SOS...but I can´t do with the rest. The documentary was boring for me too.....I normally listen all of Robbie´s interviews because I adore what he talks and how he talks too....but I couldn´t with the documentary either. I watched a lot of times the documentaries about Close Encounters(WE´RE NOT ALONE)I love them ...not this one...I don´t do it on purpose....I just don´t like the album neither the documentary-----I wish I could love it ...I would be happier. I don´t like the sound of the album neither the voices of the boys...Brit bands are my favourites...unfortunately not this one- Anyway thank you so much for your comment-
@ Adry....have you seen Look back, don't stare? Watch it, then you'll recognize a lot of Robbie in the album. When I first saw the Flood I thought "OMG a wanne be boyband"but now I've seen it several times live it's growing to a great performance of 5 guys havind a nice time doing a great job performing a fantastic song! And the album sounds better everytime I listen to it!Has got some faboulous songs!!!
OH, MY GOD!!!! I finally have this album!!!! It's absolutely the BEST. I can't stop listening it!! It's brilliant amazing album!!!! It's amazing!!!! Take That's Progress is the greatest album I heard until now!!!! It's like a full speed flash or big fire bullet!!!! Take That made an album, which will be written to the music world history!!!! However, it's the fastest selling album of MILLENNIUM on the world. It sounds perfect with YOU, ROBBIE....I'm very happy, that this album is little bit differrent, as Robbie's and Take That's previous....you can still hear the unique combination of Robbie's excelent voice with all Take That....together it sounds brilliant....but, all of us can say, that it has a new modern style....it's kind of new electro-pop mixed with classic britpop style and it makes a new dimension of music!!!! And all album is about progress of Take That, about their lifes....yes, Robbie Williams cried quits with Gary Barlow and now Gary's place is Robbie's. I'll never stop love Robbie Williams....Yeah, it's class, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!
Well done Take That on your second week as number one Progress album. It is a brilliant album.I have listened to it so many times its had a lot of use !!!!Thank you for such wonderful songs. Can not stop singing The Flood,SOS and Eight letters.Enjoy the music.xx I Can not wait for the documentary release next week and the special box set a week later..... a lovely early christmas present........Hope you all have a wonderful christmas with your families. Can not wait for the live tour next June 2011.See you in Manchester.
I´m trying to like PROGRESS....but except for The Flood (and maybe SOS)it is just unbearable to me. If someone wants it as a present I offer it since I probably won´t listen it any longer-☺- Only 10 songs and it seems to me never ending- Now I´ll have fresh air and listen my beloved RKTVS or any other Robbie´s album-
love everything you do!
hi Caroline ....no barriers ...I was expecting the album and bought it the same day it came out here...but I don´t like the type of sound ,songs,I don´t like the voices so much.I don´t find Robbie in there.I don´t think he will appear just after a few runs.Thank you so much all the same for your comment. By the way I expect from artists more than experiments and a time for fun. These both belong to the record studio....the album must be a complete product.
@ adry: let your barriers down. I didnt like it at First either but After a few Runs through it got through to me. Don't forget that they are musicians and Need to experiment and try New Sounds and have Fun too.
I don´t like PROGRESS....what a pity---I ´ve been expecting this album anxiously but it´s boring for me.
well done!!It's a great album, and already gold here in Holland after 2 days! Thanx for coming to Holland. It was so exciting being at the Voice of Holland and see you and the lads performing live together for the first time after all these years in my country!!!Agree with Naomi..reconsider the pants

i'd seen your interview at radio dj in italy..Robbie but you were asleeping??? How much are you sweet and beatiful!?! Love , Love for you, Robbie by Veruska.
What is this? Was my first thought. Didnt dig it. But after a good listen im really into it now. Can hear the messages and sounds like Rob had a lot of influence on this Album, with His political and conspiracy thoughts. Great! Is there a Bit of communisum Feeling to the songs? Something i picked up on. With the marching Feet etc.....
Robbie for you: "Eight letters, three words one meaning.. i love you!!!" Veruska
got it the day it came out ;). it's bloody amazing. wait's got to be a fav (as well as eight letters, and every other song :P). well done guys x
Robbie, I heard this album. It is fantastic. Especially I like the song "Flowerbed". It is so lovely! But I have a question: Why get you this song only as Download, it is not on the album you can buy! Why? Perhaps it is your next Single and Hit ? In love Alexandra
