Take That Issue Statement Regarding Tonight's Cancelled Copenhagen Show
Copenhagen, July 16th
We are truly devastated to have had to cancel tonight's show in Denmark. This is the first show that we have ever had to cancel in our career as a band. It was a horrible decision to make and one we agonized over.
On Friday night, Rob suffered serious food poisoning from something he had eaten after the show. He was violently ill all night and well into the morning. At 10am this morning, he decided to relocate to his dressing room at the stadium, in the hope that he could recover and prepare for the show. Doctors visited him twice during the day and despite prescribed medication he was still vomiting at 4pm this afternoon. The doctor insisted that he was not fit to perform tonight.
The five of us then had a decision to make: Should we go on with the show without Rob or should we cancel altogether? What would be fairer to our fans? What would people want? It was a very, very difficult decision. In the end we felt that as this tour is about the five of us being back together, and about celebrating that reunion, it would be wrong to go ahead with the show. We also knew that no matter how hard we and our team worked, in the short time we had to make the necessary changes to this hugely complicated and technical production, the show could never be what we wanted it to be, and nor could it be what our fans expect and deserve from us.
We are now back at our hotel and still cannot believe what has happened. Rob is still very unwell, and we are all just focussing on getting him better so we can put on our show in Amsterdam this coming Monday.
We would like to say from the bottom of our hearts that we are truly sorry to all of you who have bought tickets for tonight's show.

Im so sorry to hear this, hope your feeling better! that stupid cook who made your food that day, feels so bad! I feel so a shame to be danish, im one of those who just waited and waited for you to come to Denmark, and then this happen to you! I really hope this doesn't scare you away from Denmark. GET WELL SOON ROBBIE!!!! Im sure you wont, but dont go back on stage until you are 100% recovered. There are alot of your friends who are thinking of you right now. Hope you are on the road to recovery, take your time to get yourself better.

I hope you are starting to feel a bit better today. Flat Pepsi ... not Coca Cola, will help. I am still devastated for Mark, Gary, Jason, Howard and You My Friend. I think the fans who had tickets for yesterday's show were just overcome with emotion, when they posted their 'unhelpful' comments. The guys, although devastated, disappointed and heartbroken definitely made the right decision for the band! In the meantime I suggest, as a band, 'You Can Look back But Don't Stare' .... and I hope *WE, YOUR FANS* 'Can Love You Out Of There' You and the Guys are probably all feeling a bit dark right now ... but I hope you can take solace, from the passion and depth of emotions being displayed in these and other posts :o) Get well soon .... EHEC INCUBATION time is inbeteen 2 - 10 days! The disease necessarly doesn't! have to come along with bloody bowel movements. Germs get transmitted by smear infection too. ... touching contaminated doorknobs etc ... many possibilities here. PLEASE PLEASE check! All the best All the best

I wouldn't have known about the vicious rumours if not for some comments here (about food poisoning being an excuse). Do I believe any of it? Of course I have no way of knowing for sure, you're only human, and stranger things happen... Now I get your general frustration with the media... How do you prove you are not a camel? * # Having said that, I don't really pay much attention to whatever is written. Don't care. If any of it was true (I am not implying that it is, mind you), you'd need friends more then ever. It would be heartbreaking to see you lost again. Coz its the lonliest feeling in the world... Hi Rob! I hope you're on your way to recovery;-)) Of course one can understand the fans that they are very disappointed but we must all realize that one does not need something and you'd also rather different. I thought about EHEC too but it seemed so "worst case-like" so that I have forbidden myself to think over it. Positive thinking it´s called I guess. I really hope that it is not EHEC. Robert, ich hoffe es geht ihnen wieder besser. Ich kann die Fans verstehen die Karten haben. Hatte selbst mal eine Lebensmittelvergiftung, verdorbenes Fleisch. Mir war auch 2 bis 3 Tage lang kotz übel. Da ist ein Auftritt undenkbar. Sowas ist nur menschlich. Man muß immer damit rechnen das eine Veranstaltung ins Wasser fällt. Deswegen ist auch Geld zurück Garantie.

That was my thniking on the Saturday.But am so glad I got to go on Sunday too.Coz I so wanted to see yee ALL again :) Anyhooo, Hope Rob fells better soon. Food poisioning is feckin awful. Am sure most of us appreciate how hard it was for yee to decide to cancel. Mel xx

CHECK ON EHEC !! VERY QUICK!!!! OH BOY , this is awful, I'm very sorry to hear about. Hope Rob didn't eat any sprouts in "healthy " low-calory salad ... think about the EHEC history lately - Alfalfa and other sprouts were the culprid. The EHEC is within the seeds! even. DON'T eat any salad with sprouts even bio-sprouts are contaminated!! If they are stored with other veggies in the kitchen the virus gets on ie. the tomatoes, cucumber etc.,too - it only takes 10! germs to iniciate the disease To detect EHEC it takes special- and not the regular ! - tests. sorry, but i understand the disappointment! Dear all, I can truely understand, why some friends here form Denmark are frustrated. What would happen if they cancel the whole tour now? What about the dutch and the german fans? I am sad, that some friends here shouting and hurting the danish friends, but can you blame someone who is sharing their feelings in this blog? I really hope that Rob is get well soon and that the management and the boys manage to repeat the gig!! Hope that through this awful things people are saying here, we wont loose the magic we recieved from rob over the last weeks...love alex
