Take That Mark Record-Breaking Run At Wembley With 360 Photo
Robbie, Howard, Jason, Mark and Gary brought the UK leg of their record-breaking Progress Live 2011 tour to a roaring finale on Saturday night when they performed the last of a run of eight dates to a sell-out crowd. Take That have smashed the previous record from over 20 years ago which was held by Michael Jackson for his 1998 Bad Tour. Thanks to all of you who bought tickets to the UK shows and came to see the five reunited again after over 15 years!
To mark the momentous occasion a 360-degree panoramic photo was taken on Saturday, the last date of the UK leg, which captures the entire crowd at Wembley Stadium. Commissioned by Wembley Stadium, Take That and The Sun this unique photo is a 'thank you' to everyone for their unprecedented support and to celebrate the band’s record breaking Wembley shows.
“Performing at Wembley Stadium is really special," said Take That, "there is no other place quite like it. The audiences have been absolutely incredible and we wanted to thank everyone who’s come to see us for all their support. We hope everyone will enjoy reliving the show and sharing their memories from our last night at Wembley with all their friends.”
The 20-gigapixel 360-degree panoramic photo will be available right here on RobbieWIlliams.com from midday (BST) on Monday 11 July. Tell your friends and get ready to tag yourself!
Take That's Progress Live 2011 is the biggest tour in UK and Irish history with over 1.76 million people having seen the show over the summer. The tour, one of the most highly anticipated music events of the summer, is the first time the band have toured as a five-piece since 1995. Audiences around the UK have been wowed by a spectacular two and a half hour set, which celebrates their biggest hits from the last two decades.
When Progress Live 2011 went on sale in October 2010, a record-breaking 1.34 million tickets were snapped up in less than 24 hours. 850,000 tickets went on sale at 09:00 on 29th October 2010 and throughout the day the band added a further 11 dates to cope with demand.
Melvin Benn, Chairman of Wembley Stadium, said: “This has been a truly remarkable tour and the band’s Wembley shows have been nothing short of spectacular. I hope the 360 photo will give fans a very special memento of the band’s record breaking Wembley shows. It’s been an incredible summer of events here at Wembley Stadium and we are very proud to have written a new chapter in the stadium’s hall of fame.”
The photo was captured by renowned photographer Jeffrey Martin.
How does the 360 photo work?
The shoot itself is done with a professional grade digital SLR camera and long lens mounted on a robotic tripod head which turns, focuses and snaps photos in a continuous motion around 360-degrees until the entire inside space of the stadium has been captured.
Upwards of 1000 individual photographs are then sorted, merged and enhanced using 360Cities.net’s automated stitching technology to produce a finished image that would otherwise take days or weeks to create. A turbo-charged computer with more cores and gigabytes of RAM than you knew could be levered into a computer make it possible for the Progress Live Tour gigapixel panorama to be available online the following day, ready for people to view and tag via their Facebook accounts.

Dogs on Cannabis & Cocaine. Today in our local paper it has stated greyhound trainer was caught speeding up the dog with cocaine, then to slow it down with cannabis. All a betting scam. As Bucks Fizz said 'you gotta speed it up, then you gotta slow it down'...........lol. true
MILANO TI ASPETTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we are ready, we are beautiful, we are very made in Italy!!!

Hi Rob. How long did this blog take to write??? You must be an expert typist by now...When are you coming back to Australia ??? We could put another shrimp on the BBQ for you and Ayda....Wishing you love and happiness always
I have been DENIED ACCESS..... got heaps of house work to do anyway....... I did think you were a prick when I was DENIED ACCESS, but that is probably because you may think I am a bitch LOL... what took you so long..... xxx I liked the deeper spiritual version of Robbie who hasnt had a drink for 11 yrs...... take care xxx ps the cone of silence is spy talk for face to face with a big glass dome over your heads... apparently it works cause chaos never heard a word, not a word... and they did that cause the shoe phone was tapped and their were agents hiding in the filing cabinets.... private members indeed, It woudn't be any fun without the cone of silence over our heads. Unless you are disguised as batman, batman is soooooooo hot.... Id get all shy in the private members lounge just me and you, I'd be speechless and you would mistake me for being cool an uninterested..... PSS.... seems your employeeees are slacking off while your out earning the bread and butter, cause the charity section is empty( thats not good) and the extras, well there is no extras.... mmmmm Oh well you cant get good help these days what can you do.....
Have you ever listened to a song and felt your heart flip and your stomach lurch just at the way one word is sang. It might sound daft but everytime I listen to WE WERE YOUNG this happens to me when you say MY LIFE and FIRELIGHT, it also happened when you said BLAME IT ON YOUR FATHER in BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY. Loved the tour, hope to see you again soon. xxxxx
I wonder all the time why you won't come to Berlin during the tour?! Who choses the venues and places where you do your gigs?! I'm looking forward to Hamburg though, even though it'll take quite a while to get there from where I live. I love you!
How many dogs do you have? and what are it for races... I love dogs and want a pug that grunting so sweet in love nathalie
What a fantastic view- as I was miles away sat in Wembley Stadium this gives me a completely different view. Did anyone else think though that the programme was overpriced (at £20) and then when I got home and looked at it it was all pics and not much else. I brought it for prosperity but was a little disappointed!!! Would have liked a few sentimental words from each of them..... Also as a 33 odd year old now with 2 children and a baby on the way Ive thought for a few years that it would have been nice to see some babygrows/bibs/small tshirts in merchandising. A lot of us are now getting on and have kids so would be nice to "force" them into wearing the gear as well :-)

Oh this is so amazing! I just flew back from London, back to Australia after having seen the last two shows. Yes, I flew to London just to see you guys, and nothing else. I was up on the barrier on the 8th, and I could have been again on the 9th, but I wanted to sit back and absorb the show from a seat (exhaustion, plus a bit of sunstroke from waiting since 8am to get in, and pure adrenaline fuelled excitement). I haven't had two such amazing nights in forever. I met some amazing new friends, who I think will be new friends for life, and although Rob, you were just out of my reach during Feel, I did get to spend a very precious second at the very end with Howard and Jason as you all came about during 8 Letters. Truly, you are the greatest entertainers around, and when people think I'm a bit of a nutter, I only have to show them footage of your shows, and they all shut up. You definitely were too bootylicious for most of that crowd, too! I know this might sound like I'm just being a show-off, but to fly 27 hours just to see you guys, when I have a fear of flying, is testament to how much faith I have in you. I read this blog often, Rob, and you gave me the inspiration to do it! I knew the if I could get over that fear just to see you guys, I could do anything. Thank you for some amazing memories, and I can't wait to see myself in this 360 shot! So many congratulations to you and the boys for a show that has outshone all of the others any of you have put on!
