A Trip To Stoke

In November 2002, Robbie returned to Stoke to visit his old school, St. Margaret Ward High School, and also support one of the charities for which he is a patron, The Donna Louise Trust.
The charity was set up to establish a home for children with life threatening conditions in North Staffordshire and was the first hospice of its kind set up in the local area.
Robbie took time out of his busy promotional schedule for his No.1 album, Escapology, to pay a surprise visit to his hometown and lend his support to the children's hospice.

Robbie, I teach in Stoke on Trent and my pupils thought they were interviewing you today for an English lesson on open questions for interviews. It was actually the Head they interviewed, acting in a drama role as you. He did a fantastic job but the pupils were a little disappointed it wasn't really you. They had got so hyped up thinking the real Robbie was coming in! Could yourself or Jonathan Wilkes visit a School full of keen Y5 Primary pupils all Robbie fans living in Talke Pits, Stoke on Trent. As their class teacher I would love to give them the chance to meet you so they could really interview their idol. Failing that a letter would be fab. Local fans of all ages still love you. xxxxx
Robbie, have now seen you twice with my daughter, once at the NEC and once at Milton Keynes - I know I'm old enough to be your Mum but who cares. I teach students who have been excluded from school and use part of one of your videos to inspire them = the one where your teacher reckons you should have joined the army - yeah right! you really are a kind bloke from stoke with your charities i love it when i take my daughter to her judo lesson at the blurton community centre that you helped to get built with your charity and the place is just full of your photos and i know they are as proud of you as i am! i love the photo and letter that you sent to them i read it everytime i go in i love it when you say we are funny ,kind and willing to help and thats what you are and yes you do take that stoke thing on stage with you- you're the best love jo xx
