I've Been Expecting You Cover Shoot
Not only did this shoot in the glorious Hollywood Hills in the summer of 1998 produce photographs for the I've Been Expecting You album artwork: it spawned the imagery for the album's consequent singles sleeves.
The sleeve, booklet and overall art direction for the album was created by Tom Hingston and his team, who have designed Robbie's album and single sleeves, tour programmes and set designs ever since.
Tom Hingston explains that the initial idea for the look of the album artwork came from Robbie himself and also tied into the album title, the music and the secret agent theme.
"Because of his [Robbie's] energetic personality, there was an opportunity there to harness this and do something that was a bit more leftfield and quirky," Hingston explains.
"Rob always finds the character and you build the environment around that."
