MK - 15th September 2006 ..what a Great Stage!
This gig was Amazing! The stage was out of this world!! But one of the poorest organisation of any gig... This was one of my favourites gigs for build up!! It was a long world tour for Rob and I followed it online everyday from beginning to end. The tour started in Dubai in April 06 and I had to wait till the Sept! Seen most of the gig online already and couldnt wait to get the real thing myself! Really excited aswell, as it was gonna be at the new Wembley Stadium!! until i got the dreaded email...that it was now gonna be in Milton keynes Bowl. I'd been there to see Rob before and was a little disapointed with the venue. Then found out that there was this golden circle at MK and all us subscribed RW fans tickets were reverted to general admission so any random got to go in the golden circle!! So again i didnt make it in the circle - but got to the edge of it lol. Then..Ticket nightmare - there were delayed problems with despatching the tickets and OMG they left it late! I got mine a day before the gig!! Phew. Ticket in hand i went on my way to MK. The first thing i saw was the stage! OMG - it was amazing, a UFO! It was a lovely warm Sept day and we sat waiting for Rob. Support acts did there sets..Mark Ronson, Basement Jaxx, Orson From the minute the stage burst into light and Rob appeared from a underground lift onto the stage singing...Radio - It was the best!! He sang all our loved favourites with a few extras thrown in. At one point he let us all know what he thought about the Wembley Stadium saga by saying..."Welcome to the new Wembley Stadium! It's F*cking brilliant innit?!" Johnny Wilkes came on stage for a few cabarets acts - bit of kicking a football comp!! Max Beesley also came on to play drums on Rudebox. The encore began with Robbie being lowered onto the stage from a cage at the top of the stage at great height!! singing let me entertain you.. As normal a nightmare to get out of MK.. ques of cars on the roundabouts of MK lol But a fantastic day, fantastic gig and my last to date as i write this (3yrs on)
